With everyone proclaiming Luka as the next face of the league, I don’t think he’ll end up reaching the potential everyone thinks he will. People on here think that he’ll be atleast a multi time MVP and win a couple of championships but with the competition in the league right now and how good some of these young cores are, I don’t see Dallas ever being a major contender. This all goes out the window of Luka ever leaves Dallas but imo in Dallas he won’t get the job done, he’ll probably win a few mvps though

I’m not saying you’re wrong but most people on this sub didn’t thing Jokic could win one as the best player on his team either

I think he could be one day. On the contrary, I think he's much closer to his peak than people would like to admit. Just go take a look at his impact stats year-by-year, there haven't been any noticeable jumps since 2020.

That's in spite of the fact that he's added more wrinkles to his game like finishing better, shooting 3s better, using the post more, having an in-between game, etc.

Not gonna have huge impacts when your 2nd offensive option is a back up 5 that can’t be bothered to set screens or do anything but hesi step back 3 or take a shitty shot. Dude just went to the WCF not even 2 years ago with Dwight Powell as his starting 5. lol

Ur really contradicting urself here, u say he won't win a chip as the 1st option but u explain it with Dallas not being good enough comparing to other teams. You could've just said u don't see him with winning with this roster

This post is very weird

I think there should be a “venting” thread where people can continuously sound off on things unrelated to games actually being played. Could allow for actual discussion instead of just reading and confirming/denying.

u/KnicksNBAchamps2021 said it so it must be true.

I don’t see this as a super hot take everyone else seems to consider it. He’s Harden 2.0 but with worse shooting. Maybe he’ll win an MVP when all the efficient players have a down year at the same time but I doubt that will happen. Championship as the number 1 seems highly unlikely considering his play style isn’t conducive to winning 4 straight rounds.

Ain't nobody ask you though.

“I just don’t see it” is not analysis

me either but mostly because i think heliocentric offense doesnt win championships. There is a huge intangible benefit to ball movement. getting People involved makes them buy in more in all aspects plus lets players catch a rhythm.

Luke with 14 other really good players slightly below him in ranking would definitely win
