It’s interesting that his defense is so bad because (from my memory) he was considered a good defender in high school and his dad is a defensive specialist coach. But maybe injuries just wrecked his lateral speed?
Yeah, didn’t he have a terrible injury in between High School and College?
Regardless, High School defense is a completely different thing than NBA. He was a known as a bad defensive prospect coming into the draft.
Yeah I guess it was just because he was built people thought he’d be a tough defender. But he struggled a lot at Duke with that too.
Raps sub wanted to trade Siakam for this guy lmao
That sub dwells in the abyss with Rick James
Didn’t we just have this conversation not even a week ago? He looked like poo poo in summer league. Jumper disappeared.
Bucks should trade for him. His pops would give him some minutes.
Will trade for aj if given a chance and cheap
Hes slow as molasses
They've got like 15 wing players on that Hawks squad. Can't give minutes to everyone.
Seriously though, note that Griffin's minutes took a dip from 20.4 per game to 16.3 per game after Quin Snyder was hired last season. Perhaps Snyder just prefers other players ahead of Griffin in the rotation, and feels like it's OK to bring him along more slowly at this stage.
I'll always remember him for one thing, Nick Richards (Hornets backup center) had just gotten a block and then a dunk or smt and was hyped asf. AJ came down the floor and was guarded by Nick and u could tell nick was fiending for a block, AJ did the most subtle head fake and froze him, easy layup
There are still lunatic Raptors fans who think he is a great centerpiece for a Pascal trade
