Gave him the benefit of the doubt, but he has no lift on his jumper and is becoming a liability on the floor. Safe to say the LA stint has been a no-go. Does anyone actually think he can compete in the role he currently has on the clippers?

He has been a step slower with no vertical burst this season. That said, it’s hard to say he is cooked when he still drops 20-25 points a game. Tonight he looks like ass, but on B2Bs he has played super chill in either the first or second games…

[–] WorldTwisting@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah. He’s still a top 12 guy when right but the top 5 or player probably isn’t there anymore

maybe he’s doing it on purpose

no more load management games off so he’s load managing his effort so he doesn’t rip something [again]

whether he’s washed or not, i’ll wait until the playoffs to determine

He looks like he takes games off on B2Bs this year, even though he is still out there. I can’t prove it or anything, but the eye test suggests that.

Did he look like a player at the end of his career from January-playoffs of this calendar year? No, he looked like a top 10 player in the league.

He’s had a rough couple of weeks from a shooting perspective, but he is still making winning plays 9/10 times.

He did tear his MCL sometime in between there, ya know.

[–] Ok-Tree4365@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yes, and right now he's playing his way back from a torn meniscus in game 1 of last season's playoffs.

[–] N_A_Z_r_the_letters@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

And sometimes, I know this is hard to comprehend, but bear with me. 32 year old men with chronic knee issues coming off of a torn MCL can expect a down turn regarding their athletic careers.

[–] LandLongjumping2268@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Usually I’d call you crazy, but I think that unfortunately , the meniscus tear might have ended his career. He has absolutely no lift and explosiveness left. His scoring might take an big hit like Harden after his first season with the Nets

Liability on the floor? Goddamn. I know his shots aint falling but what a stupid thing to say.

I'd wait til the playoffs. Kawhi has always delivered when healthy.

Time to look at u/thatboyris as a poster at the end of their career. Blocked.

[–] Upset_Purchase_5903@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You gotta give it more time homie, Kawhi was averaging 27 points on 50/40/90 shooting after the turn of the New Year last year.

Also he’s still averaging 21 ppg right now in his “washed” state. Y’all be using that term too freely.

[–] TheOkComputerGuy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Cause they live in a world of perpetual hyperbole. They never learned to properly voice an opinion without the nonsense attached.

[–] NicolasName@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

EPM stat has Kawhi as a top 40 player still, and he's still positive both on offense and defense.

If Kawhi is a liability on the court, then 90% of the league is a liability on the court.

Give this man a PhD in jumping to conclusions

[–] DigOlBick99@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Been cooked for a few years now actually. Uncle Dennis told me

[–] DoughNutSack@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I think you're a bit late lol

[–] Thymewilltell69@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Perhaps this is anecdotal but he’s always seemed like a slow starter to seasons. I mean he’s at least healthy and contributing. That’s already a plus

[–] DrHydrate@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I don't know if it's the end or not because folks will continue to sign him for quite a while. If I were him, I would hang it up soon. The constant injuries are painful, and he's not going to do much in the postseason again as a major piece. Why not just retire and rest?
