Hunted down Luka relentlessly lmao

[–] Bballopinion@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They should start him or trade him.

[–] Heavy_Document_8993@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nah 4 million 6 man is a bargain

[–] Dumbass1171@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Clippers own Luka and Mavs. What’s new?

[–] TallanoGoldDigger@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Was really hoping they could make it work on the Lakers, Russ would have been a great secondary playmaker. 44 mil for a bench player just was too steep, and Bron just wouldn't play off ball

[–] sakata32@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Was cooking Luka in the 4th

[–] honestnbafan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Luka _oncic out here getting hunted and cooked on defense by Russ in the year 2023

Not a great look so the least lol

[–] I_give_free_Dopamine@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (4 children)

He’s gotta be up there for most offensive boards for a guard

[–] HeHateMex2@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)
[–] XDYassineDX@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

second to clyde if you count all guards. clyde has 2615 which is ridiculous btw

[–] Aaronrigunay@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Crazy for someone who only averages 6 reb per game in his career.

[–] Successfufsdf@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Westbrook would be a contender for GOAT if he had LeFraud’s teammates

[–] montrezlh@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

He had the exact same teammates as lefraud for a bit. Surely he excelled during that time and propelled his GOAT case?

[–] GreekFreakFan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

2017 Russ was basically a 2000s Bron redux season if you think about it.

Stat padding offensive rebounds smh

[–] XDYassineDX@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

unironically most lakers fans

[–] odnamAE@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Well if you play for the Lakers and your name isn’t Austin Reaves you have been shat on by the Laker fanbase over the post championship years.

[–] HitboxOfASnail@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

as a russ fan, reading all these response about how great his rebounding is, after this sub convinced itself for years that his rebounding was forced stat padding , is crazy whiplash

[–] HBSBrook@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It will be easy to measure if he is stat padding rebounds

  1. Look at % of offensive vs. defensive and compare it to the league average

  2. Dive deeper and look at points off saved possessions and compare it to the league average (not sure where to find this data though)

Raw numbers don't say much.

he rebounds so well bruh

[–] DeuxDR@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Cooked Luka in the 4th. Attacked the basket and didn't settle for the open 3s the Mavs gave him. That's we need from him honestly. Great game.

[–] sharklavapit@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

That's we need from him

Rockets flair? 👆🤔👆

You're welcome. According to Dunks and Threes, he has the 3rd highest EPM for all guards on defense.

Give him his defense credit

[–] yasmiester@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Westbrook > Lebron tbh

[–] MyLadySansa@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

AMEN. Luv ya, MIT!

[–] DoomPurveyor@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Luka a walking BBQ chicken

[–] ThrowAway7171700@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

And great defense too. Genuinely one of the best guard defenders this season

[–] theboyqueen@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

He's playing like a demon. First half was just one outrageous defensive play after another. I love this version of Russ.

[–] SandyMandy17@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Russ came into the league a defensive demon

He historically has excelled at everything except 3pt shooting

His free throw shooting also went to shit I have no idea why

[–] CodeFrame@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Probably the hand surgeries

[–] otwo7@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He destroyed his hands for dunk highlights

[–] SandyMandy17@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I always thought it was more that he just put on too much muscle working with a new trainer after his mvp season

The muscle disrupts the ROM in his shoulder bc of how much bulk is there and he can’t clear as consistently when shooting from the front

He was a high volume mid 80s guy then went to low 80s 70s now he’s sitting mid 60s somehow

It’s taken a lot of time to happen too, I’ve never seen anything like that in other players

He went from 84% on 11 attempts to 65% on 6 attempts in 2 years

[–] Finndeax@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I don't see how it can be muscle related when he also shorts a lot of shots nowadays. He more often misses short than he does miss wide, so if anything he lacks power.

[–] azn_dude1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It's not like he's too weak to make those shots. It's a control and consistency issue.

[–] DontShootToMiss@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

He came into the league as a defensive prospect. He’s been a terrible defender for the majority of his career.

They changed the rules. He used to leave the circle and walk to half court between shots. He also used to take his time. The rule change required him to remain in the circle between attempts. His percentage dropped after this change.

damn this sub he was the leader of HAMAS after that post about him playing bad after the harden trade ruined his momentum to start the season

[–] Driveshaft48@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Tbf this one game doesn't change much. Westbrook is still ass and a horrible fit on the clippers

[–] Troll_Enthusiast@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I hope the Clippers get a ring to prove this wrong 😤

[–] Kenchan21@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)
[–] HitboxOfASnail@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

lmao this shit is gold

[–] SandyMandy17@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

A 6’3 guard should not be able to rebound that well offensively

You can find 15 6’3 guys at Walmart

[–] nutelamitbutter@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Play like that all the time Russ, no bs jumpers

[–] quake301@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Benchbrook showed up ngl

[–] opeth2310@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Was only a +1 in a blowout win. But I didn’t watch the game lol

[–] HBSBrook@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If WestBank's fans could read, they would be very angry

[–] ObiOneKenobae@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I sure hope Harden is making the most of Westbrook's sacrifice... Sure would be awkward if he was continuing to suck just as hard.

[–] Marcel69@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Thriving in the role the lakers should have put him in all along

[–] Lowkeylit3@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lol funny enough i remember when y’all convinced yourselves that he’s stat padding his boards. Dude just wants the rebound more than anyone else, call it what you want. If you want the board that bad go and get it.
