It’s been years since I’ve entered a photo competition, but I have new work that I think could do well. For a series, they are asking for each image title and a description. The title I am being very basic, but how important is the description?

I don’t want the images overtly described as they are somewhat abstract, and part of the fun is deciphering what the subject is. I personally hate the pretentiousness that comes with so many artists talking about their work. Am I shooting myself in the foot for not playing into that way of describing the work?
