I like in ear monitors but I can't stand to wear them for a long time

they sound good but I can never get them to fit perfectly no matter what I do and after all my ears start to hurt after wearing them for about 30 minutes especially my right ear after an incident happened with my right ear and when I first started getting into this hobby I started with Iem because they were budget-friendly

does anyone else have this problem

How many different tips have you tried? Some people have dozens of different tips for different sets. I use Spinfit 145s for everything, might wanna try those

Unless its custom mold that could sit properly in ur ear and not causing any pressure over the bony part of the ear (pinna), I believe most (if not all) iem will cause pressure induced discomfort/pain at the bony area of the ear over time.

what is the tip size of your IEM? maybe look into a smaller tip and use a foam tip? it really can be difficult to use IEM's if you had an accident, you can try using earbuds that do not go inside the ear canals and just sits on your ear

yeah I did.

used the smallest tips, but still made the inside of my ears hurt. they ended up in the drawer.

good thing was they were one of the cheapest recommended IEM's at the time so wasn't much of a loss. just realised IEM's are not for me.
