My dad gave me his dads watch. It’s an older watch but it’s definitely on the more dressy side.

Most of my attire is graphic tshirts and baggy pants. Is it foul play or faux pas to wear my watch with this attire?

Yes! Wear it if you happy with it. But be a little bit careful, these old watches probably are not water resistant (anymore) and so it could get damaged if you wear it in the rain. Maybe a service should be considered.

Yeah I think I’ll be cautious with when/where weather wise. It doesn’t really work great to start with though so it’s more something that was once my grandpas and now mine!

Wear it for a week and see how you feel. I wear a dress watch with t shirts and jeans all the time, but wouldn’t with workout pants. But we’re all going to have different lines.

If you want to tone down your watch’s formality, you could also put it on a suede or even a perlon strap (or stingray leather or a Hirsch premier leaf strap—lots of interesting options).

My first instinct would be 'no' - the standard fare would be something more along the lines of a GShock, chunky diver or similar piece.

But it actually choice down more to how you accessories around it and pull it off - a big diamond encrusted watch well probably looks a bit odd in isolation, but add a matching chain and suddenly it becomes a coordinated style. I would hazard that a dressy watch will do exactly the same - odd in isolation, but a cool statement when planned.

There is also of course the other thing to consider - how much do you care what others think? If you think it looks cool, then go for it.

Try w different strap. Like a mesh bracelet instead of leather.

A dress watch can always be dressed down. Any problems are going to be due to your clothes, not the watch.
