A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

Hi all

i will do some shoots on a techno club next friday. whats your experience? only use available light or try with flash? my plan was to shoot the dj with flash and reflectors. or i better just use available light and wait until the light flickers at the right time? i know theres no right or wrong but im curious about your opinion/style. thx

Rear curtain flash every time. Keep the ISO high and the shutter relatively slow to keep some ambient/background light in, this also helps keep the flash output low so that it doesn't annoy people or burn through your batteries too fast.
