The Nuggets are too good of a team to need a fair whistle lmao let the rest of us eat!
On a total of 6 "real" fouls.
It's on the Blazers for losing that game, but man the refs didn't do us any favors. One play in particular Grant got straight up tackled by Portis, yet there was no foul. Dame took off on a fast break and missed a layup, but was gifted free throws. It was so stark it was jarring.
Yeah we made a boat load of bone headed mistakes down the stretch but some of these calls were straight nasty work.
I love dame. But he gets a ton of calls. I remember in the Portland days, I felt like there were games where you aren’t allowed to touch him.
Those of you constantly complaining about the bucks free throws, do you watch the sixers play? The whistle Joel embiid gets is much more favorable than anyone else in the league

Just thought I’d call attention to the same thing the Sixers were maligned for only two days ago. It seems some people getting calls is seen as exposing defenses while with the Sixers and Embiid it’s “foul baiting”
It's been like this for years, not just 2 days. Fans only see the people calling their teams players floppers and foul baiters even though if you'd go to every game thread you'd see everybody calling every opponent floppers and the refs are against them. Some things you can ignore
Embiid's having an amazing season so far but you wouldn't know it by this sub. The only posts that hit the front page about him are lowlights/minute shit. We are not the same.
lmaooo game threads are the worst for that. Anytime their team blows a lead it's always due to the refs no matter what happens. If the word "ref" was banned fro, game threads 80% of the comments would be gone
I mean I would ignore if there weren’t only lowlights posted on games where he scores 40+ with huge defensive efforts. I just don’t see the same energy for guys in the league not named Joel Embiid. Just wish there was more of a balance.
There’s been all the posts of Giannis having the ball slip out of his hands on a couple late game plays while he’s still played very well. When you’re a top 5 player there’s always going to be haters.
Sure and there was also the tip-in highlight posted. I don’t mind lowlights if there’s also highlights acknowledged. There hasn’t been a positive Embiid highlight posted here in 9 days. Just saying.
I completely agree on Dame. He's absolutely not even trying to finish many times, just baiting fouls on drives. Anyone giving Embiid shit should be saying the same about Dame.

This exactly. My issue has never been the issue with the foul calls Giannis gets. I just felt like he gets away with too many offensive fouls.

People are criticising Embiid because he -wants- to go to the line, so he plays to go to the line, even if he is capable to do the same stuff without it.
Giannis really -doesnt want- to go to the line, yet defences know the only real way to stop him is to make him go to the line.

He drives to the rim and tried to draw contact from defenders that are out of position. Pretty fundamental part of the game that's taught at literally every level of the sport. Not sure how that's "ugly."

How in the actual fuck does Lillard get 14 attempts? Compare that to Lebron or AD free throw attempts. Really really wild.

He obviously gets a pretty friendly whistle but he has been driving to the rim a lot. He seems to hunt for the contested layup pretty often, not only getting a lot of fouls but he's actually been blocked a shitload so far lol. So yes the refs help him out a lot but with how he's been playing he'd get to the free throw line either way
Did you watch the game?? He got at least 4 in the last 30 seconds from the trailblazers intentionally fouling to stop the clock. He also takes all of the Bucks technical free throws.

Lillard is currently leading the league in Percentage of points from FTs (33.6%) and FTA/FGM (1.32).
Not only did Giannis and Dane combine for 32 FT attempts, the Bucks as a team combined for 32 ft attempts
