Probably my two favorite players to watch today. Kudos Thunder and Wolves fans. It’s miserable being a bulls fan. I was having a debate in warzone quads about this and was curious what you guys think.

Shai for sure

[–] Ironhide94@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Shai, but it's really, really tough.

Shai is certainly the better player today (although Ant is very, very good).

I think Ant has a higher ceiling than Shai, and could very well end up better, but I'm taking bird in hand over 2 in the bush on this

Close but I’d pick Ant because of age, but if for the current Heat I’d pick SGA.

[–] chitownbulls92@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Probably Shai but I like Ant more just for his personality and entertainment value

Ant is not even the best player on his own team.

[–] DragoniteGang@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Ant had the 4th highest net rating since 1997 and is leading the league right now while having the highest BPM in the team and Net rating as well as other advanced stats such as DPM and EPM this season.

I don't think people understand how good shai is right now when they pick Ant. He's arguably the 3rd best player in the league right now.

Please give me either of them. I dont care. I'll prefer SGA but trust me, I don't care.

lmao

Fr I'm sitting here like well this is a win win scenario, I'm good with either

[–] nickkerrr69@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Obviously Michael Jordan lol

SGA is good but ANT is the GOAT

[–] DoughNutSack@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Ant looks like him and Shai puts up numbers like him lol

[–] JacquouileFripouile@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Ant looks like who? If Jordan that's a hella reach lol

[–] DoughNutSack@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Just messing around. People apparently think he looks like MJ but I don't really see it. I was more trying to get my point across that Shai literally had one of the best 2 way seasons seasons for a guard ever in history reminiscent of MJ but people still want to discredit him (maybe because so many people hate the Thunder/Oklahoma City?)

If Shai was doing what he does right now/last season on the Clippers he might be the face of the league. I am a big fan of Ant as well but people act like it's gonna be no problem for him to reach Shai's level. I don't think they realize how much efficiency factors in and how difficult it is to do what Shai does on a nightly basis

Man this is tough. Shai is the better player right now in terms of efficiency, playmaking, off-ball defending.

But the GM may possibly have 3 more years of Ant because he's durable, stronger and younger (SGA's game will probably age well too). Ant's game isn't only on athleticism either, he shoots a lot of midrange now with a good balance of threes and attacking the rim. Ant's progression at the same age is ahead of schedule too (by a lot) and he improves every year.

I'm a homer but I'll take Ant for 3 reasons beyond youth/potential, 1) already proven to elevate in the playoffs, 2) more availability and 3) intangibles/leadership. Availability is the best ability, you're likely to get 15-20 more games of Ant a year (even in Shai's non-tanking year). I don't know what Shai is like as a leader but Ant can rally a locker room in tough times, empower others and bring lots of joy to people around him. When KAT had a bad game in the playoffs, Ant brought the team over to his house and boosted him up. Down 0-3 to the Nuggets and he told everyone "Game 4 is first to 4 games. I promise you it ain't over". Those intangibles are underrated.

I am a neutral fan but I would 100% take Ant over Shae. He’s bigger and more physical and which means guys aren’t gonna be able to push him around in a playoff game (which is way more physical). If you have a really great defender, they can stop Shae. A great defender might not be good enough to stop Ant

[–] trollittoG@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Ant. Love Shai but Ant will be an mvp and will win a ring as an a1 option on a team. And although everything is pointing in that direction i cant state the same for shai. Purely subjective ofc, either option is legit af

[–] itchypitbull@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

im taking SGA as of today. However, i would not be disappointed even in the least if he turned down the offer and we got ant instead.

[–] No_Brilliant5888@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Ant's younger, but I feel like Shai will be one of those Durant/Curry types leading the league in scoring as a 35 year old. I'm also Canadian, so Shai lol

[–] Stunning_Passion5923@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Shai is definitely better right now, especially in terms of consistency over an 82 game season. But looking at their respective stats at age 22, Ant is right on track for at least reaching SGA's peak: https://stathead.com/tiny/jquFO

Given the age difference and Ant's enormous room for growth (seriously, he's barely scratching the surface as a playmaker), I would take Ant. But Shai is the sure thing

Shai by far.

[–] Fordraxel@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Ant. He'll learn how to Free Throw merchant like Shai soon enough, right now he shooting 4 attempts less and 4 minutes less and only 5 ppg behind.
