Harden better RS guy though, but cp3 even in his choking moments was better in the playoffs for me, he was also better in 2018 vs the warriors, harden was ass that series. Both had a lot of playoff lows, but cp3 better highs.

peak harden is a much better individual player but cp3 contributes more to a team overall

[–] erldn123@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (2 children)

I dunno about that tbh, but it's only cause CP3's peak got cut short.

New Orleans CP3 before the knee injury was better than Harden IMO, he clearly deserved MVP over Kobe.

22-11-5 with 3 steals/elite D on 50% shooting. Guy was called Point God for a reason.

harden averaged those numbers last year in his "washed" season. point god.

Different era/pace and he wasnt as good defensively as cp was, the two seasons can’t be compared. That being said I still think peak harden is better. His scoring ability during 18 and 19 was on another level that cp could never replicate and he was still an elite playmaker. Cp is the better defender of course but I still feel like hardens scoring ability is more impressive/irreplaceable.

Cmon man, I understand stat inflation, but even for adjusted stats Harden blew those numbers out the water.

We’re talking about a guy who was generating 55-60 points a game for his team night in, night out for a multiple year stretch.

Those two things contradict each other. The point of playing basketball is to help your team win.

Idk but Dame over both

Harden is the greatest scorer since the Kobe era.

I respect CP3 but I can’t downplay but James has done. I always go back and watch Houston highlights.

He is living of that one season

[–] Goodisworthfighting4@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

But is Chris Paul a system player or a system?

Disagree but I find it funny how cp3 is more valuable to wins then harden is rn

[–] indreams159@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

who cares they're both lifetime losers

[–] YayoBankroll@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

He literally is a better, more impacful player but that's not the casual opinion. His playstyle is just better. Injuries are what held him back.

And even wth his collaspses he has way better, more significant playoff performances and especially elimination games than Harden.

He went 14-14 in a closeout game 6, he had 32/9 in a finals game, he had 41/8 in a game 6 WCF, he hit a gamewinner in a game 7. We've never seen Harden do shit like that.

The real smart bball fans know who is better.

Defense matters. Chris Paul all the way.

I really don’t, CP3 obviously has had much better longevity but Harden’s peak was much much better than CP3’s, and not to mention if Dursuperteam never snaked his way onto the warriors Harden would likely have 2 rings as the best player on the rockets

[–] ThirdEyeKaiii@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (2 children)

but Harden’s peak was much much better than CP3’s,

Clearly you never seen CP3 in his New Orleans days

and not to mention if Dursuperteam never snaked his way onto the warriors Harden would likely have 2 rings as the best player on the rockets

I mean if Harden didn't choke in the 2012 Finals none of that stuff would have ever happened

[–] Syndana23@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

As someone who’s as CP3 in the 2000s. Harden peak was still better.

And I mean…OKC wasn’t beating Miami no matter what. Blaming 6th man harden for that is trolling lol

[–] ThirdEyeKaiii@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

It's debatable, but certainly not "much better". I would put '08 CP3 up there with any Harden season

OKC barely lost games 2, 3 and 4 with a 5.3 point average differential... despite Harden averaging 12.6 ppg on 35 FG% in that stretch lol. I think it's safe to say they could've won had he played better.

[–] TIandCAS@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Harden averaged 36 in the reg season and won MVP, CP3 is obviously great but he’s never done anything close to that, also 2012 isn’t prime harden

[–] GillbergsAdvocate@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

That's dumb

[–] nutelamitbutter@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Harden and it’s not that close. One was a great all around player, one was arguably the best scorer the last decade

[–] begley420@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

It’s not a contest, who cares

[–] Fordraxel@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Harden without the Houston dumpster years is just a hard one.
