Thank you for confirming that this happened I was watching half asleep at 3 am and I thought I was dreaming

[–] awntawn@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I legit don't know if I've ever seen anything like this before lol

[–] lilb1190@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (3 children)

Clippers fans should be more concerned with their big 3 or whatever getting beaten by the nuggets at home without jokic and Murray.

[–] AvgAsbestosEnjoyer@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

and gordon, nugs played their bench and the clippers got clapped by former players, buncha bums

[–] lilb1190@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Its really a shame. The team was better before the Harden trade. Its not even necessarily Harden's fault. They just play way too much iso and would rather take fugly shots off the side of the backboard than get someone an open shot.

[–] The-moo-man@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I’m not going to pretend that the team would have won a ring without the Harden trade, but it was just not smart to mortgage your future for so long.

[–] whythehellknot@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Eh, classic trap game.

[–] lm2lm@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I promise we are

[–] BrandinPodziemski@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

According to poppovich they should be quiet and happy this is happening

[–] tayroarsmash@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I haven’t consistently watched him in years but the way it used to go when his free throw percentage started dropping was somehow he was still money in the clutch. Hearing clutch on it I was surprised he missed it.

[–] LaDolceVita_59@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (2 children)

I would love to see the entire stadium chant “ WestBrick, WestBrick, WestBrick.

[–] The_Aught@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (2 children)

do you think he would fight someone or just walk off the court

It has happened. It was an away game, but still. That one Celtics-lakers game last year that ended with a Tatum-Lebron no-call. At some point in that game RW was on the free throw line and the crowd was chanting Westbrick. Was a dark day

Russ FT%

Years 1-9: .823

Years 10-12: .718

Years 13-16: .658

It's absolutely wild how he could demonstrate elite ability at a skill for so long and then it just vanishes.

[–] OKCprod@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (3 children)

This season he is under 60%, he is getting even worse.

It is all those hand injuries. Broke his hand in 2014 and has had multiple hand surgeries since. Dude has had multiple dislocated fingers, torn ligaments, jammed his fingers and played through it all. He fumbles the ball a lot more nowadays as well.

[–] timothyjenkins21@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (3 children)

This clip is almost kinda sad with that context. At least he made millions upon millions playing a child’s game…I know plenty of people with broken down bodies that got paid a fraction of what he did doing work that goes beyond pure entertainment.

[–] YpsitheFlintsider@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

What does that have to do with his injuries

[–] ruffus4life@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

just putting things into a perspective i guess.

Thank you for providing context. I can’t stand him due to his fan treatment, but he is also an awesome maniac out there. Context is appropriate

the change of rules somehow mentally fucked him up super hard, before between each FT he was allowed to walk from the strip back to the halfcourt line to take a breather. Now rules state you have to stand for the next FT attempt.

[–] lapuertadepizza@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

He just doesn't put the work in. That's the only explanation.

[–] NeatTry7674@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Hey clippers at least you can take solace in the fact that you’re not paying him 40 milllion dollars

I feel bad for him. I’m not a Westbrook fan but appreciated what he did early in his career as a guy with a ton of athleticism. The problem is for guys like him that never really could shoot all that well, the fall off is hard. He’s an emotional player that seems to be a target for a lot of people’s hate and criticism, which he doesn’t seem to take well, but by many accounts is a good dude off the court.

Westbrick.... or, Westmiss.

[–] bukbukbuklao@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Russ was getting carried hard by his athleticism in his younger years.

[–] JayNBA5@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

[–] FatherHaz@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

And it begins…..

[–] OC2LV714@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

“Struggled through out the year “ he actually meant career

[–] needaburnerbaby@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Man the loves affair between Westbrook and Clippers fans really ended quickly

[–] yourmomsfirsthusband@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Damn after all that hate us Lakers fans got yet he’s still getting clowned by his own hometown fans

[–] shazam482@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (5 children)

Man, Lakers fans are petty... Russ isn't on your team any more

[–] The_Aught@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Surely there are some advanced analytics we can skew to show why this was actually a net positive play

[–] Jscott1423@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

When big Vegas says not only will you lose to a nuggets team with 3 of their starters out… you will also not blow the spread… you clearly air ball the free throw as a professional athlete

[–] SandyMandy17@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

He got the rebound to force those free throws in transition

Then he got a block and recovered the rebound on the next possession

Live and die by brodie

[–] bamboogie13@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Pretty insane how he can make something so simple look like brain surgery

[–] Julen_23@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Lord.... As a Nuggets fan, I still find this difficult to watch. I like RUSS and love his game too. But dang yooooooooo

[–] Fordraxel@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Westbrook a driver not a shooter. Gets buckets like Giannis, just lower the shoulder and start plowing!

[–] Lakerman1989@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

In my local old man team, if you airball a free throw, you're buying drinks for the rest of the team after the game.

[–] largejames@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Getting that ~went against the crowd on the Price is Right~ reaction again. It’s just like him taking and missing open 3s for the Lakers all over again

[–] RobbobertoBuii@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

and he was 4/4 before this lol

[–] Competitive_Ebb_7040@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago
