So Poole couldn’t play a better role for the Wizards right now. If we’re going to tank, he’s perfect. Some on our sub brought up how he should just go from tanking team to tanking team for the rest of his career. That would honestly be a win/win for everyone I feel like, but it got me thinking - what player often played a big role on tanking teams in their career? I watch a lot of the NBA but no one is coming to mind (it’s 5:00 a.m. though). Any thoughts on who was the best all-time tanking team leader?

Ricky Davis worked really hard to earn the Cavs the right to draft Lebron.

Ricky even tried to get a triple double by shooting at the wrong basket

John Wall in 2020-21 was a great tank commander for the Rockets.

Poole is the best. He already has a ring (and played a vital role on that team) and has signed a massive contract so he should be freewheeling for the rest of his career.

Poole isnt really gunning like I would expect him to, though. Last night he only took 9 shots. He has had a few games this season where he didnt shoot that many shots.

When I think tank commander, I think of a player who is just chucking and getting his stats without caring about the team results. That typically leads to a high draft pick.

Michael Carter-Williams. Kicked off the Process Sixers then bounced around multiple bad teams - Hornets, Rockets, Magic. Has made the playoffs 3x in his career but only one of those playoff teams was over .500 (they were 42-40).

Later MCW played too hard and too much defense to be considered a good tank commander.

Jordan Poole is a small fish in the tank pod. We have a whole tanking Big 3.

Do people actually go to games to see this guy play?

Some may say Poku for us, but my answer will always be Darius Bazley

How can you forget about hamidou diallo wtf...the most blatant tank move was that goaltend. Roby was the anti-tanker

My first thought is Tony Wroten, just look at those shooting percentages.

KPJ was so committed to being the tank commander when he saw the tank was over he got himself out. He is the GOAT of tank commanders.
