So people actually think this guy is a child predator? There were several freshman and sophomore girls at my high school (and probably everywhere) who wanted "status" relationships with seniors. And in a few cases those relationships continued after the guys went to college. So someone who is college age dating a high school girl is not as rare as people seem to think.

And I don't know what state the girl lives in, but age of consent in many states is as low as 16. And in some states there are exceptions for age differential, even if the girl is "under age". He's getting all this hate when no one really knows if he broke a law. And if everyone knows who the girl is (meaning her parents know what happened), and her parents haven't pressed charges, I'm not seeing much coming out of this, except the usual media mob that wants to sensationalize everything.

My take on the whole thing is that if the age of consent is 16 in Australia and Oklahoma, fine, date a 16 year old if it really is consensual and all that, but just keep it out of public eye, because you KNOW the people will try to crucify you because of it. Don't post pics on social media and just keep it private, because you're just asking for a PR shitstorm.
