Loved all his nicknames

Hefty Lefty, He Ate Me, Pillsbury Throwboy, The Abominable Throwman, The Round Mound of Touchdown, BBQ (Big Beautiful Quarterback)

I know that being fat is seen as a choice and a sign of apathy, gluttony, stupidity, lack of discipline, and many other negative traits, but the facts don’t lie.

  • If you look purely at the biochemical pathways, overeating is as addictive as many controlled substances.

  • it’s estimated that 95% of diets fail

  • it’s estimated that only around 20% of people that lose an appreciable amount of weight can keep it off longer than 3 years.

With those sorts of numbers, you’d be better off being a cocaine or heroin addict. At least with those drugs, you’re only seen as disgusting once you hit rock bottom.

And don’t even get me started on the socioeconomic factors like overprocessing, cheapening, and ultimate weakening of our food supply for the benefit of corporate profits…

But yeah, as someone that knows what it’s like to struggle with weight, I can’t imagine the crippling shame and anger he must have harbored within himself that he could have maybe played at the highest level of something, but he couldn’t beat his demons.

There's a growing amount of data supporting the link between weight and the composition of your gastrointestinal flora, too.

Specifically the flora that are breaded and fried

He’d made a great tush push qb

My favorites are

  1. they bring him in just for short yardage qb sneak

  2. the last td throw with the colts it looks like instead of going to celebrate with his receiver he is too gassed to run the 30 yards and instead walks to the sideline.

I’d love to see him line up in the Brotherly Shove. They’d get 6 yards.

I like the last one where he slides 2 yards short of the first down marker on 4th down. I for sure thought he was going to truck through some guys.

Gotta be honest, weight jokes aside he was fairly elusive under pressure.

I mean considering he made it to the absolute highest level despite being dramatically overweight, he obviously had some pretty insane innate athleticism.

Would have been hilarious if he had success for a few years and all of a sudden nfl gms went out actively scouting/drafting 300 lb quarterbacks.
