Some have little to no documented experience with vaccines while others have undermined their safety

Five new advisers will join the vaccines committee for the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) later this week, the agency and the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced on Monday, in a move that underscores the increasingly anti-vaccine stance of the committee.

Some of the new members have little to no documented experience with vaccines, while others have repeatedly undermined the safety and effectiveness of vaccines and other measures to control infectious disease.

The news comes on the heels of resignations by senior health leaders who say they were ignored or pressured to participate in unscientific processes, including changes to Covid vaccine eligibility and access.

They’re not “vaccine skeptics”. They’re morons. Morons are joining the CDC committee.

Yeah, calling them skeptics gives them an air of legitimacy

I can already see how this is gonna play out. A panel of highly-qualified scientists/researchers with many decades of experience under their collective belts will make reasoned and well-researched claims in favor of vaccines.

Then a panel of mouth-breathers will respond with some hare-brained bullshit about autism being the outcome of vaccine usage.

The laws will then be changed to make vaccines illegal permanently in the US.

...then shock and surprise when autism rates don't change....at all...and now we have tens of thousands of dead and sick children all so that parents don't have to feel icky about giving their kids a ouchy boo boo because they think they know more than doctors after reading two Facebook posts and watching a 6 minute YouTube video from a dude named Stan filming himself in his oversized truck on his morning commute to his machinist job.

Conservatives are about to get everything they ever wanted and then learn the hardest fucking way just how fucking awful it all is. Except at that point everyone's now suffering, no one gives a shit about anyone else.

Inb4 we stop doing math and science and have "truthy" engineering and "truthy" research papers. Love the direction we're going....

I think we saw what will happen with the whole jobs data fiasco. Some report will come out saying autism rates are the same, the govt will claim fake news , fire someone, then come out with their own numbers in black sharpie showing rates are super low, the best numbers. And no child deaths recently either, none.

I wish I wasn't wishing for another pandemic at this point.
