What a consistently amazing season from Jokic. Genuinely a pleasure to watch him play and what a game from him tonight. 15 assists with no turnovers? Crazy.

Jrue Holiday has missed out on like 3 by an assist or rebound or two. Kinda crazy how he’s fit like a glove, despite having a pretty horrid shooting start.

[–] ResponsiblePlant3605@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He has been the MVP for the last 3 consecutive seasons.

[–] polymorph505@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Jokic's ambivalence towards stats is so strong that it's spread throughout the league. He's normalized his own ridiculous performances to the point that no one really cares when he plays great.

Russ has an infinite less amount of rings than him

Russ averaging a triple double for a season is/was insane.

Quietly hoping Jokic matched it this season, though Jokic needs more 15+ assists games to make up the distance as it is.

That’s all he has? Seems low

[–] tigerpawn@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Spamming assists and rebounds... yuck

[–] jyozefu@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That's actually fcking crazy you can only laugh.

[–] The_Aught@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

im so greedy as a fan, the wins at home are almost a lock, i really just go to the game rooting for a triple double every time. when he gets stuck on a sombor double i get so frustrated.

[–] chizzmaster@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Dom Jokic edging us all smh

This is with a decent chunk of the games without Murray. Now that he won't have to score as much, I bet he covers the whole league by the years end

Jokic 7

Doncic 2

Scottie 1

Bam 1

Lamelo 1

Im surprised Sengun still doesnt have one

[–] bikehellion@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Kid is on a great trajectory. I can see him becoming even better in near future, and he is for sure going to rack them up.

Would’ve thought Luka had more, probably has heaps of 9 assist/rebound games

[–] aWildFrostyCupcake@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Kyrie takes the load off so he doesn't have to hardy carry as much. Lots of 7 and 8 rebound assist games

Need Vučević and Nurkić to step up to achieve full Yugo domination

+4 sombor doubles (double double with 9 assists)

[–] dienxkalamb@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

So are triple doubles no longer cool? Seems like guys wanted to chase them over winning for a few years and now it looks like it’s gone out of style.

[–] calmdownmyguy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They're cool when they come naturally in the flow of the game due to effortless dominance.

[–] Prestigious-Mess5485@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

bUt TriplE DOUBles ARE everyWhere NOw

[–] sleeplessaddict@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

And how many Sombor doubles does he have? It's gotta be at least 2 or 3 right

Heard he made some rad passes this game. Hope to see a compilation on YouTube or something for this one.

Yeah, but has Jokic ever shot 27 FTs in a game? Didn't think so.

Can you honestly call yourself an MVP if you've never shot 27 free throws in a game? Yeah, I didn't think so

The funniest part of this reply is you didn't even need to name names, everyone already know who you're talking about lmao

[–] maddogfarm@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

stat padding is easy for jokic

[–] stridered@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I believe that’s just called playing ball for Jokic.

Embiid got his sixth yesterday, what’s the big deal?

[–] Cherry_Caliban@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

So now we are valuing triple doubles again? I thought Harden and Westbrook made them worthless.

[–] honestnbafan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Because Jokic has never done anything close to this to get them lol

[–] thenatureboyWOOOOO@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They have value when accompanied with Ws.

[–] SeeingThings123@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

3 of Jokic’s this season resulted in L’s, were those not valuable?

[–] revisioncloud@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Rest of the league combined > Nikola Jokic

Ppl say TD's arent impressive anymore but currently its mostly just one guy 2X MVP getting them on regular

[–] baited08@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Historically when someone gets a TD their team has ~75% win percentage. Even when they tried to say Russ was stat padding he was winning cast majority of his games he has a TD.

[–] The_Aught@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

after watching the basketball god for these last 4 years nothing seems impressive - dude has fucking wrecked my perception of what good ball should look like. watching teams that dont have Jokic is fucking boring.

  • 30.3 - Shaquille O’Neal (1999-02)
  • 30.2 - LeBron James (2009-12)
  • 28.7 - Kevin Durant (2013-16)
  • 28.1 - Steph Curry (2015-18)
  • 27.9 - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1971-74)
  • 27.0 - Tim Duncan (2002-05)
  • 26.6 - Larry Bird (1985-88)
  • 26.0 - Magic Johnson (1987-90)
  • 26.0 - Hakeem Olajuwon (1993-96)

I feel an urge to remind people that triple doubles are not immediately good basketball if you're inefficient shooting or turn the ball over a lot.

Fortunately Jokic has neither of those problems, especially not today.
