Tbh I am quite confident that that’s all part of the plan.

Starving people will resort to extreme measures to provide for their families. This will unquestionably increase crime. Wish.com Goebbels will start bleating about how “crime in blue cities is EXPLODING” (and ignore that pretty much every single thing they’re doing is actively making all of that shit worse).

This is all by design, and the intention is to create a “dangerous” context that they can use to declare martial law and invoke the insurrection act, and seize power indefinitely.

Civilization collapse will hit hardest on communities who haven’t localized their production of basic necessities like food. The financial backers behind Trump adhere to the Dark Enlightenment philosophy, with the goals of dismantling democracy, balkanizing America and establishing a patchwork of technomonarchy city-states from the ashes of destruction. The dismantlement phase is complete, now begins another phase of their philosophy, the scapegoating of Trump and replacing him with their Chosen One.

Here is a quote from the dark enlightenment to get people an idea of what these people have planned:

Civilization, as a process, is indistinguishable from diminishing time-preference (or declining concern for the present in comparison to the future). Democracy, which both in theory and evident historical fact accentuates time-preference to the point of convulsive feeding-frenzy, is thus as close to a precise negation of civilization as anything could be, short of instantaneous social collapse into murderous barbarism or zombie apocalypse (which it eventually leads to). As the democratic virus burns through society, painstakingly accumulated habits and attitudes of forward-thinking, prudential, human and industrial investment, are replaced by a sterile, orgiastic consumerism, financial incontinence, and a ‘reality television’ political circus. Tomorrow might belong to the other team, so it’s best to eat it all now.

The Dark Enlightenment, Nick Land

Hunger is violence. Do they want a war?

[–] takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com 22 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

They absolutely do. That's what the ICE is trying to inflame.

[–] WolfmanEightySix@piefed.social 11 points 4 weeks ago

And then they can say those that are literally trying to defend themselves are bad people.

One hundred percent. That's their endgame.

I'm not surprised by willingness to whack the poor. But SNAP was a combined subsidy to both the poor and to farmers. You'd think that when the Republicans

the rural party

hold a trifecta, that farmers wouldn't be getting hit. And they've gotten hit on migrant labor, SNAP cuts, and the trade wars.

More like "just as the trump regime intended"

I have no patience left.

It’s definitely not a problem if you ignore it and don’t look at the numbers. All part of the plan.

At this point, you’re just slowly criminalizing being poor homeless middle-class basically anything that’s not rich
