Honestly the monkey's paw wouldn't have to do anything. Back when we had dinosaurs the earth had significantly more oxygen in the atmosphere which helped them be as large as they were. Most dinosaurs would probably slowly suffocate to death today from oxygen deprivation
I could accept being a t-rex that gets tired after running, plenty of humans manage to live meaningful lives with asthma, despite not being t-rexes. Carrying around a tank of O2 wouldn't be the worst fate.
I’m imagining a t-Rex with a high capacity O2 tank strapped to its back, and a little tiny human size oxygen mask covering like a single nostril..
But oh no! The O2 is low and it needs to change the tank, but the itty bitty rexy arms can’t reach so it’s just spinning in circles trying to get the strap off. It’s getting dizzy now from a lack of oxygen and, well, spinning. Eventually it just sort of falls over and maybe some other Dino comes and changes the tank for it (altruism isn’t just a human trait!). That Dino sighs and says “you do this every day. Just ask for help, dingus.”.

Nope. The oxygen ratio in the atmosphere varied and included long periods with comparable levels as today.
The most important part was their biology, that helped move the oxygen around the bodies of the massive giants. Remember that while there were massive giants, the blue whale is the largest animal ever known and they live today alongside dolphins and otters just like how dinosaurs came in a wide variety of sizes all living at the same time.
