Why YSK? The segment was pulled for clearly political reasons, and the internet does not forget.

Catbox link posted here, so please don't hug it to death. It's also easy to download this one, so consider mirroring it elsewhere. This version was pulled from the Threads post (linked below) and stitched back together into a single video. Someone posted a Youtube link to it yesterday, but YT took it down on copyright grounds.

Absolutely for political reasons. Anyone who thought Bari Weiss was not going to ruin CBS news is an idiot. She's a right wing grifter conservatives love to pretend is a centrist.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 57 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It scares me to my bone how the right wing ultra-aristocracy have bought up basically all major media outlets. It's straight up Hitler level propaganda control.

Boomers are determined to destroy the nation in their image.

Thanks to Bari Weiss I made sure to track down and watch a 60 Minutes segment for the first time since the 20th century.

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I, for the first time in my life, downloaded and securely stored a 60 minutes segment.

I'm always wary of any .news domain because literally anyone can run a blog and buy a cheap .news domain to point to it.

[–] chillhelm@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Isn't that true of any TLD? What makes .news different from .com, .TV or .porn?

[–] some_designer_dude@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Many TLDs are moderated. IE, you can’t just buy a “.new” domain unless you’re serving an app that lets you create something without having to sign up first. Had one shut down for not fully complying.

.radio is another interesting one. Your site has to be related to radio in some way. It can be anything to do with radio though. From commercial broadcast to ham radio, even license-free hobby stuff like meshtastic, zigbee, etc.

[–] techt@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Huh, TIL something new

[–] LoafedBurrito@lemmy.world 29 points 1 week ago (2 children)

ONLY because they pulled it, millions of us have downloaded this and saved it for the future. CBS is in damage control mode filing DCMA requests to get all the Canadian copies off the internet, but we are faster.

This video doesn't tell us anything new, we all knew they were being tortured in CECOT and trumps cronies picked that country BECAUSE of the torture and abuse.

Justice hopefully will be served and trump can go to CECOT as a prisoner.

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Back when CECOT was under construction there was a puff piece about how they were "taking back the country from the violent gangs" which was why the government was arresting anyone even accused of being in a gang.

They billed this as somehow a good thing.

[–] Skankhunt420@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

Yeah but we still only got 1/6th of it which sucks the truth is still hidden and lost forever.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago

Not for nothin', but if you right-click the video, you get the option to save it to your hard drive.

You should also know the US taxpayers money is used to finance and sustain this concentration camp together with all the concentration camps in US Soil like alligator Alley.

[–] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (3 children)

They call it Alligator Alcatraz. No other corrections on that, though. It’s immensely shameful.

[–] Tyrq@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 1 week ago

Alligator Auschwitz

[–] Bebopalouie@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 week ago

I call it Alligator Auschwitz Concentration Death Camp myself.

[–] No_Ones_Slick_Like_Gaston@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Right sorry I am from the area and got unnecessary confused with what we call a road that crosses the Everglades.

[–] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Ah oh yeah, that’s there there’s signs saying not to exit your car in the event of a breakdown, right?

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

And Epstein wrote a letter that directly accuses Trump of being a pedophile child rapist, and the DOJ then tried to delete it before remembering that the internet is forever and re-uploading it elsewhere.

What about it

Edit: the link isn't showing up as a link for me, just text.

[–] art@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Is the comment not loading for me? I just see the text "magnet link".

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You need a torrent handler.

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 10 points 1 week ago

Oh, the link is just outright not showing up for me in Voyager. Weird. It's just the text. I can see it on Lemmy.world webpage though.

[–] gex@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago
[–] merc@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

It didn't air in Canada. What happened was that the Canadian outlet that has the Canadian rights to redistribute 60 Minutes in Canada accidentally made the segment available in their app thinking that it was going to be broadcast. So, the same version of 60 Minutes that aired on CBS in the USA aired in Canada, but the app contained the CECOT segment.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 2 points 1 week ago

Which is what happens when you pull a segment when its not complete. Obviously you show it in other countries while you fix it for the US.

[–] Jerb322@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Saved on my phone, soon to be put on a few flash drives. New Year's Eve party favores...

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

And if your country hides these links, it may or may not be available on sites where one can sail the high seas.
