Unlike the barrage of hate below, I actually don’t dislike Black — but I’m still glad this didn’t work out because Jason Lee has a perfect voice/delivery for animation. Surprised he hasn’t done more of it.

I still liked him up until the point he suspended Tenacious D over Gass' birthday wish. They're a rock band, of course they're supposed to say and do controversial shit! Black backed out of it just to save his Hollywood prospects and I find that cold and calculating of him.

I liked him enough, right up until he freaked out over KG’s “Next time, don’t miss” comment. After that, he can go fuck himself.
Why was he angry at Kilograms?
Kyle Gass, his band member on Tenacious D. He made that comment after the assassination attempt on Trump.
Why did he get mad about that? That's relatively tame considering the source.

I almost always hate his films because he plays Jack Black. But I actually really, really liked his performance in Bernie. It's a great film based on actual events and absolutely worth going in blind. He plays a different role to his usual fare and made me wonder if he would go on to do more interesting stuff, but then nobody watched it and he went back to the same shit he always does.
Isn’t it a similar thing for Adam Sandler? He’ll do an uncut gems every decade, but his go to movies are just to make money and hang out with his friends.

thank fuck he wasn't in it. he's only gotten more insufferable over time as it is, I'd have probably liked it less if it was his voice coming out. the character was great in high fidelity, too bad he can't turn that bullshit off and do ANYthing else.
