The cat sleeps with whoever is primarily responsible for feeding him in the morning. Back when that was me, the cat never woke me up, but once I was awake, he let me know it was time to be fed. My current responsibility is brushing him before I go to bed.

I started to feed my cat at very strict times. 0700-1200-1800. And by doing so I stopped her annoying me in the middle of the night. She used to be outside and yell at the window until I let her in. Demanded attention at stupid hours when she could eat whenever she wanted.

Anyway she is now almost 18 and she sleeps a lot. She sleeps and gets candy. And I now have to wake her up at seven most of the time.

Slightly before me and if I'm not in slightly after, I'll hear about it. He sleeps under the bed at the moment but will come up when it's a bit cooler.

My cats jump into bed as soon as I go to sleep. They'll wake me up in the morning by rubbing against me and purring (haven't needed an alarm clock in years). I get up, feed them, go for a half hour walk with them before the dog walkers are up, and then make breakfast for myself.
When I leave for work, they're already back in bed, and we all wish I could join them.
Unfortunately, one of us has to earn the money to buy cat food, and it sure as hell won't be them.

Thank you for your service

Our cat loves bedtime - it genuinely seems to be her favourite part of the day, even over mealtimes.

If we don’t go to bed on time, she will come and yell/paw at us until we start getting up off the sofa. The bedtime routine starts with feeding her, but 9 times out of 10 she will ignore the food and run upstairs to wait for us.

Once we’re settled in, she jumps on the bed and gets brushed. Then she waits for me to turn off the lamp before she will get up and go eat. It’s like she’s putting us to bed. She then comes back and spends most of the night with us.

That's adorable! Sounds like she's treating you like kittens (idk how momma cats work, I figured they'd put them in the nest then go hunt at night)

Do you have a long haired cat?

[–] MurrayL@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Nope, she’s a calico shorthair.

That is a sassy look. She's beautiful btw! I can understand the strict regimen better

Just, whenever the fuck, man. It’s anarchy.

Two of our four cats will check on us if we aren't in bed around 930/10pm. If we stay up then they will sleep where we are til we move. They come to bed and co sleep. Sometimes they stay there most of the night other times they leave once one of us falls asleep.

Our cat walks around and yells most of the night. Some nights (not many) he will sleep in the bed with us. He sleeps most of the day.

Active during dawn, dusk and feeding time. Days and nights they are sleeping under a heat lamp.

They kinda sleep all day. But also when we go to bed we feed them (which is near the bed), and some go on a quest through the house for a minute, and almost always one jumps on the bed to sleep with us. Dunno what happens during the night but I'm the morning everyone sleeps on the bed.
