TIL my favorite show growing up was spun off the Tracy Ullman show. I'd never looked into it, I had no idea ๐ค
Yeah, they would air shorts that slowly played out what amounted to a single episode.
Oh cool! Kind of like the idea of a serial (in newspapers where they'd do a chapter of a book a week or whatever)?
Yeah, like that. That's also how they would run serial shows at movie theaters before TV.
Simpsons only got one story before it became it's own thing, though.

I enjoy the season one art
Always wondered why Bart's hair is made from his flesh. Same with Maggie and Lisa. I also wonder what a trip to the barber must feel like for them. Imagine getting your fingers shaved off your hands every couple of weeks with no anaesthetic. Is it any wonder the boy's a menace?
