Declawing cats is animal abuse it really fucks them up mentally. And you shouldn't wash a cat unless they've gotten into something messy, they do a fine job on their own.

Counter point: Old cats tend to not be able to groom themselves as well and require baths, which can be stressful for them
If you bath your cat regularly, and from a young age, it will become an habit, and be less stressful the moment you actually need to wash them

Once my cat turned 20 she needed dust baths, it's not that she didn't like the water (she liked the warmth) but rather that she couldn't groom her fur back straight and refused to allow me to brush her coat to straight, so she'd get matted otherwise.
She had an extra (clean) litterbox that I'd bring down out of storage for her to roll in that was full of diatomaceous earth and baking soda.
Sweet dusty cat, I miss her.

Animal declawing, ear cropping, and tail docking are illegal in every EU member state.
Does the tail docking law have any exceptions? Doing it for aesthetics is fucked up, but some dogs have a problem with wagging their tail into objects which can fuck it up and necessitate amputation. Happy Tail Syndrome.
yes, there are exceptions for medical reasons and they are unfortunately abused by assholes and unethical veterinarians.

Who has ever heard of a stinky cat? Their beauty routine takes up about 50% of their awake time!
We have an older Norwegian forest cat with long hair and he does a terrible job at keeping himself clean.
If we don't help him his fur is full of large knots and even his butt gets blocked by fur knots and then by poopy fur clumps and he smells horrible.
He also hates if we touch his butt...
Their awake time is about 30 minutes per day :)
