Dear xxx,
This mail is to inform you about an unfortunate, but necessary price change that we must make.
There have been drastic price increases in various areas in the IT branch recently. That is why, unfortunately, we must also increase the prices of our products.
The costs to operate our infrastructure and to buy new hardware have both increased dramatically. Therefore, our price adjustment will affect both your existing products and new orders.
The underlying causes of the increased costs are, among others, the exploding demand for AI-related computing power and for cloud services. In addition, raw material prices and production costs have also generally risen for manufacturers. The costs for RAM and SSDs especially have risen by a large amount. For example, the cost for DRAM memory has increased up to 500% since September 2025. And according to market researchers like TrendForce, this price trend will continue throughout the year.
We have genuinely tried hard to optimize our costs and to prevent increasing our prices for as long as possible. But we can no longer compensate for the strain that it has placed on our operations. We want to continue to deliver quality products that meet both our standards and your expectations, so we must take this step.
The price changes will take effect on 1 April 2026 for both new orders and existing products. For orders placed before 1 April 2026, but delivered after 1 April 2026, the adjusted prices will apply.
The following existing products, listed under the customer number specified in the subject line, are affected by the price increase as follows.

We know that price changes are always a challenge for everyone. However, we believe that our products' prices and conditions still have a competitive price-to-performance ratio.
We have prepared a list of all new prices for you on Hetzner Docs at https://docs.hetzner.com/general/infrastructure-and-availability/price-adjustment. Starting on 1 April 2026, the new prices will also be on our website.
If you do not wish to continue your contract, you can cancel the products within the regular cancellation periods via your administration interface.
We hope that you will be able to understand and accept our decision, and that we are sorry that we have to change our prices.

I just looked through my email. I haven't gotten a note about the increase yet, my February bill is paid.
I love having all my music on my NextCloud on my Hetzner.

Hetzner just killed my public IP address because of a random and baseless abuse report. No reaction from their end, just silence. I immediately started migrating to another hoster and deleted my account.
I hope for some large red numbers for Hetzner.
they knocked down that sweet, sweet upload bandwidth per month from 20TB to 2TB last year. now, theyre adjusting prices, I cant see a way this doesnt get more expensive for me 5 years down the line...
time to setup my own servers in my home! 😁

Ah, but your hardware is most definitely not free. and even if bought used, and your power is literally completely free, it will likely fail or be too obsolete before any actual savings occur. Not to mention the massive time-sink it quickly becomes (especially in the beginning).
I'm not saying don't self host, just don't think you'll save any money doing it.
I have always done self hosting. You don't need the most new hardware. And if you enjoy it too it is a win win. For me I host over 60 services my self. For me and family and some friends.
I'm definitely not running newest HW, I'm running on 6y/o HW and refurbished HDDs bought 2 years ago. But even if my power was free (it isn't), and nothing breaks (it will), I would need to run the server for ~10 years to make up for the subscriptions it let me drop.

I went with netcup about 5 years ago as Hetzner kept raises prices monthly. Absolutely happy with it too.
I have bad news for you.
Netcup is just a reseller of Hetzner servers. They canceled the promotion week that should have started today, and they're probably going to increase prices too.
German company owned by Austrian company and with a presence on mastodon... not a bad start.

Noooo I just moved a few services there from amazon. Oh well. I have to say I am pretty happy with them though.
This is really not Hetzner's fault, it's AI companies gobbling up all the hardware and driving up prices for everybody else.
I think it's still cheaper than AWS et similia.
Plus, it's an European company. Win win.

Hmm. Gonna put a few euros on my auction servers. I would complain but the price has been static for 2.5 years.
Yeah being European doesn’t mean someone will let go a good business opportunity… We’ll see others follow with similar increases unless the European stance on territoriality changes again.
