Its been "the end of maga" 6 or so times. It's not

[–] how_we_burned@lemmy.zip 2 points 12 hours ago

Well what are they gonna do about it? The mid term aren't until November.

MAGA, or ex-maga don't have enough critical mass for stree protests. And even if they did Trump will shrug it off. Just like how he has die the no kings and anti ice protests.

The only way to stop Trump is a general strike along the lines of the huge movements that succeeded in removing, in some cases their viciously murderous, evil, regimes, such as Euro Maidan (Ukraine) 2014, Romanian Revolution 1989, East German Revolution 1989 and the Philippine People Power Revolution 1986 to name but a few.

It is possible.

But you have to be planning and working out your roles. Not everyone will be jammed up against regime thugs batons and shields on the front line. Others will be legal aid, cooking food, supporting families of those who can't work because their fighting for liberty, democracy and justice.

Start by joining like mindes organisations. Start attending meetings. Get your neighbours, friends and family to dip their toes in.

Remember when the Republican party was "eating itself" and a Democrat victory was in the bag before the 2024 election?

Yeah they'll be fine and come back more fascist than ever

[–] madcaesar@lemmy.world 32 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

They rallied to a fucking insurrectionists pedophile. Never underestimate the depravity of the Republican voter.

GO OUT AND VOTE! VOTE BY MAIL IF YOU CAN TO REDUCE LINES.

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago

No. Vote in person. They are rigging vote by mail as we speak.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 29 points 21 hours ago

Bullshit. They'll all bend the knee. It's a cult.

[–] smeg@infosec.pub 50 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Give them a week. They'll fall in line.

[–] mycodesucks@lemmy.world 13 points 22 hours ago

Well, what do you expect them to do? Internally reflect and admit they were wrong?

[–] NottaLottaOcelot@lemmy.ca 8 points 23 hours ago

Promise them that their overdue riches are coming soon. MAGA doesn’t hate war, they hate the idea that someone other than them is getting financial help

[–] chaotic_ugly@lemmy.zip 19 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

Horseshit. Conservatives have been raising their children for a generation to believe dying for Trump's America is a worthy cause.

Raw Story is just like any other rag. They play to their demographics. There is no massive anti-MAGA outcry on X or any of the socials.

Don't let this bullshit lure you into a false sense of security. Conservatives are as committed as ever. The majority of them think the post-911 wars were justified, and that they were heroes for fighting in them. They also believe the Jews are the chosen people. They're ready to send their kids to die in Iran. They're nationalists and zionists. It's their entire worldview. It's in their bones.

Don't become complacent.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 13 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Correction: A few Magats shake their fists angrily and then crawl back under their rocks. The rest are strangely pleased.

[–] Wataba@sh.itjust.works 2 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I'm hoping for just one of those gun crazy nutjobs to actually get close enough.

They did it with Kirk. The precedent is there. Just aim a little higher.

So... not the paedophilia or the rampant curruption?

[–] Plum@lemmy.world 76 points 1 day ago

He built his name on those two things. Literally. That's been his brand since the 1980's: shady businesses, inflated real estate deals, and beauty contests. His base voted him in because they liked what they saw and wanted more of it nationwide.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (2 children)

No, that's not how anything works....

"The straw that broke the camels back" isn't just one heavy ass piece of straw.

It's one thing, in addition to every single thing that came before it.

So its this and the pedophilla and rampant corruption, and everything else.

[–] DivineDev@piefed.social 21 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I'd assume the pedophilia and corruption were already making a decent amount of people angry, judging by the recent election results. War against Iran was just the tipping point, without the preceding issues I'd doubt it'd have sparked much of a revolt.

This is not me arguing that any of these are ok btw, in an ideal world any of these things would lead to the end of the administration.

[–] Vlyn@lemmy.zip 1 points 12 hours ago

I'd bet a lot of money if there was an election right now they'd still vote Republican.

If Trump and his buddies molesting children on that big beautiful island did not shake his support base, nothing on earth will. Have you read the contents of that file? Whatever you read, I am here to tell that there is more and it is worse.

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

I'd be willing to bet most of them aren't aware of the truth behind most things

[–] Zink@programming.dev 7 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

I just wonder if this horrible shit was done to distract from the Epstein files or because of the leverage provided by the Epstein files.

I mean, if Epstein was a Mossad asset and therefore the president of the united states is a Mossad asset, they can really get some dirty work done with somebody else's bombs.

[–] shittydwarf@sh.itjust.works 119 points 1 day ago (4 children)

That 30% of Americans are never going to not support him

[–] Lucky_777@lemmy.world 53 points 1 day ago (6 children)

Yep, that's the base cult right there. They will always support him. He could rape their own children and they would still support him

[–] HeadfullofSoup@kbin.earth 23 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He could do it in front of them while the child ask for help and they would still support him there is no coming back for them

We need to stop worrying about those who support him no matter what. 30% of Germans supported Hitler right up to the day he shot himself. You can't reach some people. Stop wasting effort on them.

Just like they don't care if you're a pedo, as long as you're a Republican. They don't care if you lie to them, as long as you're a Republican. This is no end to MAGA and anybody claiming as much is not reputable.

[–] xabit24368@lemmy.zip 34 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (3 children)

"No new wars" Maga doesn't seem to care about that

"He'll make the economy better" Maga doesn't seem to care about that

"He'll making housing affordable" Maga doesn't seem to care about that

What do they care about? They keep backtracking on what's important to them, it feels like they don't actually care about anything except hurting people. What's their agenda?

[–] Colonel_Panic_@eviltoast.org 12 points 23 hours ago

Small people try to feel big by hurting others and blaming them for it.

School bullies, narcissists, abusers, MAGA, authoritarian and dictators. Same song different dance.

They haven't grown up past playground drama.

They will lie all day and say it is X or Y or Z, but you can exhaustively prove each one false and they will move to the next one in and endless list of excuses.

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

it feels like they don’t actually care about anything except hurting people. What’s their agenda?

You already called it

[–] mrmaplebar@fedia.io 40 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I'll believe it when I see it

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 29 points 1 day ago (5 children)

His approval could SLIDE to 39 percent, which will SLAM him.

[–] jacksilver@lemmy.world 3 points 20 hours ago

I can't wait for another poll to shockingly show he's slid to his lowest approval of 39% - again.

I swear for the past half year I've heard every news agency post an article every other week about his support "slipping to 39%"

In a week every MAGA is going to be screaming how Iranian Feminists want to capture your kids and trans them at the antifa headquarters, so we have to eradicate Iran and everyone else Israel doesn't like. we have to stop buying into hopeslop pandering headlines.

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They gave him the presidency. Why the fuck does he need them anymore?

[–] SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

He'll walk away a billionaire. He gives zero fucks.

[–] mycodesucks@lemmy.world 6 points 22 hours ago

Oh, to have the optimism to think he's going to walk away.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 4 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

He can't buy time and his is going out. He looks like a few months from a heart attack.

[–] Vlyn@lemmy.zip 3 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

I got a 3 day ban on Reddit for saying I'm team blood clot (:

He looks like shit, but somehow evil keeps crawling on. Best example for why I continue to be an atheist, if god existed Trump would have been struck down by lightning a million times already.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 1 points 8 hours ago

Hopefully a new president will emerge without vagina chin folds on the next go around. I have hopes that our princess Diana's n the electoral college will choose the right king next time. Either way we must continue to pay our tribute. Be it in the form of abusive tariffs, abusive taxes, physical or mental abuse or just by being sent to fight a war that had no reason and no purpose. But at least they did wack the leader real quick. We should go for Putin while we're nearby.

[–] lolo@sh.itjust.works 77 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Have they been “ended” again? Wow, this must be the 100th time I’ve read that; certainly true this time, though! Thanks, Rawstory!

Trump ally Andrew Tate was even more blunt, writing, “NOBODY WANTS THIS WAR, ” before adding, “War transfers wealth from the working class to the banking class. So does fraud and inflation. The working class man simply cant catch a break and is endlessly wrecked. This is The Matrix - extraction from the populace to feed a machine minded host. Heartless.”

So, MAGA, let's check the scoreboard:

  • America First: tell it to Iran, Venezuela, Greenland, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, NATO, et al.

  • Lower prices on Day One: past Day 400, and prices are higher than ever.

  • Deport all the illegal immigrant criminals: As well as innocent people, school kids, veterans, old people, sick people, American citizens, even MAGAs.

  • Lower Crime: Enforced by Paramilitary Death Squads roaming the streets and breaking out into spontaneous firing squads against people that piss them off for any reason.

  • Release the Epstein Files: Except any that mention Trump, or his friends.

So why are you still on board? Is it the mind-boggling corruption, like openly accepting bribes in front of the entire world?

Or is it the virtuosic incompetence? Like a health system that has caused the first measles epidemic in decades?

I'll bet it's the Pedophilia. The one thing a MAGA can count on is that they'll go the distance to cover pedophilia. THAT you can count on. And that's important because...

ALL MAGAs are Pedophiles.

[–] vegeta@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago

End of MAGA, yeah right...

We've always been at war with Eastasia

[–] Vieric@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

Give it a couple days. Every one of them will say they always 100% supported the war. Never thought Trump was in the wrong for even a second. Nope, not me.

[–] madcaesar@lemmy.world 4 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

I don't give a shit about the end of MAGA, I want to see the rise of the left Tea Party. There far more left / sane people than those fascist turds. They just organize way better.

[–] mattyroses@lemmy.today 1 points 12 hours ago

There was thar, in 2016 and 2020. The party defeated it.
