Perhaps she should've thought about that when she was cheerleading the crowd of neocons who are perpetrating all of this.

Yes but did Charlie consider that Trump would need a really bigly distraction from people talking about how he raped kids?

[–] Hikermick@lemmy.world 11 points 13 hours ago

People will be taking flags down that they have flown for the past 9+ years. It's important we remember who flew them

[–] Professorozone@lemmy.world 10 points 13 hours ago (8 children)

WTH has gotten into her. Did someone hit her with a "reasonable" stick or something?

[–] frog_brawler@lemmy.world 12 points 12 hours ago

She's changing her views a bit, but it took her family being personally impacted by the GOP healthcare changes and for Trump to condemn her questioning them surrounding said healthcare changes. She's making attempts to try to redeem herself I think. If she continues publicly expressing views like this, I'll commend her for the bravery it takes in admitting, "I was wrong," so long as all of this shit doesn't evolve into a political campaign.

There’s a lot of fracturing and internecine warfare in MAGA land. You can see some of this in Alex Jones struggling to figure out whether he’s still cool with Bannon or not.

There’s always been a split between the Nazi wing and the Christian Nationalists who support Israel because of their apocalyptic fantasies. You’ve also got the ones who only care about abortion, and the ones with Q and adjacent conspiracy theories. It’s an uneasy alliance.

MTG is a Q type. Anti semitism is part of it, but it’s more about the insane conspiracy theory world she lives in. She’s not being “reasonable” she just thinks Trump is on the evil Jewish laser team.

[–] TheSeveralJourneysOfReemus@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

She's smelling the distrust around Trump (and his Epstein connection) and is now trying to distance herself from the cesspit that she built - maga. I would not trust this person. Remember what she was during 2020-2023. Do not forget.

[–] frog_brawler@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago

She's trying to pull one of these... don't trust her, but let her cook if it's not just some pre-campaign.

[–] cmhe@lemmy.world 4 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

She is an antisemite, so she is against Israel because she is against the Jews. Other people are against Israel because of their governments genocidal actions. They are not the same.

Nope, the Grift simply takes a pivot while reading the gullible market. The Grift must always go on. The market is realizing that Trump is turning into a liability and his best grifting conman days are behind him. As soon as Vance comes onto the main scene it will realign with new conspiracies and views.

[–] Professorozone@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago

That sounds more realistic.

[–] JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago

Basically, she found out the rest of her party wasn't actually on board with her personal brand of crazy. The shock of it seems to have redirected her a bit.

[–] C4551E@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

she was a True Believer but finally woke up. still a shit person, but realized she was being lied to.

[–] Professorozone@lemmy.world 6 points 13 hours ago

I find that difficult to believe. Does a person who thinks Jews want to surreptitiously start forest fires by putting millions of dollars of high powered lasers into orbit instead of paying a nut job with a match, ever "wake up?" We're taking about the same lunatic who thinks "they" can control the weather and sent a hurricane only through red districts. The wacko that literally, as a grown ass woman, followed a teenage shooting victim down the street yelling at him for being an actor and faking it.

I think it's more plausible that she was hit in the head or something.

[–] Atomic@sh.itjust.works 2 points 12 hours ago

She's doing what she's always done. And that is too turn the sails before the wind.

The wind is changing direction. And so is she.

A fast or slow clock, though, they can take a VERY long time to be right.

[–] blujan@sopuli.xyz 4 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago)

She is going 1/1,000,000 the speed of a correct, 100% accurate clock. That we witnessed this tweet is almost a miracle.

She's been close to being right before.

[–] Fluke@feddit.uk 2 points 14 hours ago

Definitely the latter, in this particular instance.

Timothy Snyder has talked about how anti-Semitism is going to be the weapon of choice for one faction of Trump's court as they position themselves for the post trump transition. JD Vance will pin all of Trump's crazy shit on Miller and then try to pin Miller on Rubio. Don't be surprised if "Israel is responsible for our imperial decline" becomes the post-MAGA "stab in the back theory" of the 2030s... That's why these fuckers LOATHE progressive anti-Zionist Jews like JVP.

Damn... Just in a few years people will go: wow he's right, maybe we were too harsh on the pedo

[–] dan69@lemmy.world 2 points 14 hours ago

No, those are bad ppl. To second chances from my end

[–] Hismama@lemmy.world 3 points 13 hours ago

She just brings to light what roles they all put on for their political agenda. They can all be bought or led in a different direction when it suites them. We'll probably never know her true opinions.

I don't want to have or need health insurance... I want my taxes to fund Universal Healthcare, not wars.

I want my Gov to service my needs, and my neighbors needs, not to function as an entity that taxes the many and profits the already rich few.

[–] davepleasebehave@lemmy.world 4 points 16 hours ago

your taxes do find universal healthcare. Just not in the US.

[–] squidie@feddit.org 7 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

And no more interest in the Epstein files.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 5 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

How many known Epstein associates have been arrested to date?

I keep hearing "Release the Files!" I've yet to see any New York or California prosecutors going after anyone named. Hell, they're still subsidizing the businesses and fetting many of the individuals involved.

[–] Railcar8095@lemmy.world 6 points 16 hours ago (3 children)

I'm not a lawyer, but unless they have reasonable evidence the crimes occurred on their states, the state prosecutors can't do anything.

The DOJ has that evidence, they have been ordered to release it and they refuse. Prosecutors can't ask for underacted files "just in case"

That's why people are demanding the files, so people can be arrested.

I'm honestly surprised how backwards you got it.

Class war you mean

[–] purplerabbit@piefed.blahaj.zone 233 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Ok. Yes. BUT.

You're against supporting Israel because you're antisemitic.

I'm against supporting Israel because I'm anti-imperialist and anti-war.

We are DEFINITELY not the same.

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 105 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (5 children)

I don't even think it's (predominantly) her antisemitism that's causing this, because she definitely also (probably moreso) hates Muslims; it's her backwater isolationist mentality that the US should never help anybody but ourselves (totally ignoring how much helping others disproportionately helps us). I wrote a very large portion of Greene's article on Wikipedia in 2021, and one of the biggest throughlines for her support for Donald Trump in 2020 was isolationism ("America First").

It's also why Greene was outspoken against the US' invasion of Venezuela and kidnapping of Maduro. An ardent anti-interventionalist is bound to occasionally be correct when the one intervening is an impulsive, reckless, bigoted, selfish imperialist.

A friendly reminder that just because a fascist and a Nazi has a disdain for Israel, they're still NOT allies. They're still a fascist/Nazi, they're not to be trusted and/or praised. The left, be they Libertarian Socialists, Marxist-Leninists, Maoists or Anarchists, support the Palestinian cause as it mirrors so many oppressors vs. oppressed dynamics throughout history. Muslims feel obligated to support their fellow Muslims in despair.

Fascists/Nazis oppose Israel out of their irrational hatred of Jews. There's no separation of the State of Israel and the global Jewish community; they're one and the same to them. They erroneously believe that they and Palestinian Arabs share a common enemy when, in fact, Palestine's struggle is against colonists oppression. Hamas and Hezbollah may spout antisemitic views but this an extension of their radical Islamism. If Fascists/Nazi had their way, Jews, Arabs and all other non-whites would share the gas chambers. They boast about bogus but widely believed antisemitic conspiracies: Rothschilds, George Soros, ZOG, Cultural Marxism, Great Replacement, so on and so forth. The Rothschilds and Soros are, indeed, pieces of shits but, once again, fascists/Nazis hyperfixate on their Jewishness.

The media will portray the global solidarity movement as in league with fascists and Nazis. We must make clear that fascists and Nazis are not welcomed. That is why it's important that we, under no circumstance whatsoever, make alliances with fascists/Nazis.

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 5 points 15 hours ago (3 children)

My biggest fear for 2028 is that we'll face a choice between MTG (or someone in the Nick Fuentes mold) running on an explicitly anti-Israel, white Christian nationalist platform, and AOC running primarily on domestic issues with little foreign policy emphasis and that a vocal contingent on the left will choose the former. Not out of any coherent ideology, but because opposition to Israel has become such an overriding fixation that they'd willingly overlook everything that candidate represents: the rollback of rights for gay, Black, Latino, transgender, immigrant, Muslim, and Jewish communities alike.

[–] SpiceDealer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 6 hours ago

Ideally, we should abolish the electoral college and first-past-the-post system of voting.

[–] afromustache@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago

I feel like AOC and most (all) of the progressives also oppose Israel though, unless I haven't been paying close enough attention. So presumable that would presumably prevent said vocal contingent from supporting MTG and her anti-everything political ideals.

[–] jimd@lemmy.ca 1 points 14 hours ago

it's me, I'll be that left that will choose the former

[–] definitely_AI@feddit.online 8 points 22 hours ago (3 children)

Did she have a stroke that accidentally fixed her brain?

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 15 points 17 hours ago

They're calling it the Reverse Fetterman.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 4 points 14 hours ago

She's just a windsock for the idiots who vote for her.

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 22 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (3 children)

She's still a liar and fraud but she has a functional weathervane that changes with the winds of public opinion. Her problem with israel isn't the genocide of palestinians, its the jews she hates. She's the 'jewish space laser' lady.
