Olivia Troye, a former adviser to Vice President Mike Pence, announced Tuesday that she would run for Congress as a Democrat in Virginia’s proposed new 7th District, pending passage of a sweeping redistricting referendum this month.

Troye publicly broke with the Republican Party in 2020 after serving in political and national security roles, signing onto a letter with more than 130 fellow GOP officials endorsing Joe Biden’s campaign and arguing that “Donald Trump has failed our country.”

In the years since, Troye has emerged as an outspoken critic of the Republican Party under Trump. She was a featured speaker at the 2024 Democratic National Convention.

“The evil I saw in that White House was staggering. In 2020, I finally said ‘enough,’” Troye said in a video announcing her congressional bid. “Trump doesn’t scare me. I took him on when it mattered the most, and I’m ready to do it again.”

Jesus these people will not just fuck off.

She's running in a safe Democrat district. So we get another Republican lackey pretending to be a Democrat. Go to a fucking trump+10 area you fucking self centered carpet bagger.

Why is even the DNC allowing them to be in the party? Party membership isn't as simple as claiming "heh I'm party X now" and donezo...

That's a sleeper agent if I ever saw one. The redistricting becomes nothing but political theater if they install Republicans in the new "Democrat" districts.

“The evil I saw in that White House was staggering. In 2020, I finally said ‘enough,’”

Meanwhile millions of Americans were able to see the evil without having to be inside the White House. Even if she's genuinely switching sides and changed her religious views or whatever she used to justify the Republicans repeated attacks on female body autonomy and LGBTQ+ equality and voter oppression and defending / prompting sexual abusers and spreading blatant lies about political opponents and diverting funds from social services to billionaires etc etc etc, she's too oblivious to the suffering of the American people to be a public servant.

yeah. redemption arcs are possible, but chickie needs to spend a few decades in the wilderness atoning through grass roots organizing and on-the-fucking-ground direct action.

Saying it again on the same post doesn't make it any more clever.

At least wait until after the primary before getting snarky.
