I, for one, am shocked. Shocked I tell you.

Who could have guessed Trump would appoint somebody who doesn't recognize the victims of genocide as real people? It's not like Trump called pro-Palestinians protestor "pro-Hamas thugs" and "jihad sympathizers" or said "I will give Israel the support that it needs to win but I do want them to win fast" or called attempts by Biden to negotiate a cease fire an attempt to "tie Israel's hand behind its back".

How could anybody have known? By looking at how he handled conflicts in the area during his first administration? What are we? A nation of nerds that try to make educated decisions about our political leaders?

The trip on the Floridian will take nearly 48 hours to complete, according to Amtrak.

Coach seats start at just over $100 for the trip, with private rooms available starting at $700.

Who is their target market?

I can't help but feel like that's the point.

At no point did I say "smart", "genius", or "stupid". I said "intelligence", which was your choice of wording, in my rebuttal.

I also made no claim regarding Musk directly. I just pointed out the flaw in your argument that there is a correlation between a person's wealth and their intelligence.

[–] EndOfLine@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Money ≠ Intelligence and your entire argument seems to be based on this erroneous assumption.

No-one becomes a multi-billionaire due to a lack of intelligence or common sense.

Not "due to", but people all thoroughout history have amassed great wealth despite a lack of intelligence. Especially when they are born into privilege.

Sounds like grounds to challenge any and all of his decisions, including any legal charges he is associated with.

Good thing this man is given a gun and near carte blanch to shoot people he feels threatened by. /s

Taking drugs that impacts judgement and results in irrational actions sounds like a good reason to not be allowed access to firearms, much less placed in a position of power or authority.

Trump is going to lose the popular vote so with the current US political system, these are the voting options this year:

  1. Vote Harris and help Harris claim the presidency.

  2. Vote Trump and help Trump claim the presidency.

  3. Vote 3rd party and help Trump claim the presidency.

  4. Don't vote and help Trump claim the presidency.

The maker of the party game Cards Against Humanity has sued Elon Musk’s SpaceX accusing it of trespassing on and damaging company-owned property in Texas.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday in Texas court, asks for $15 million to cover damages including what the company calls the destruction of natural vegetation.

I'm hoping that The Ring rules will apply and save me.

I don't know if I can come up with a lazier political meme than this. Took virtually no thought at all. Any idiot could have put this together. Seriously. It's like I'm not even pretending to try to come up with an idea.

Apparently he only does odd jobs.

I have been using ChatGPT because it was the big name early on and I have never really looked into any alternatives. With the rapid growth of AI assisted services, I am curious to hear what others are using.

After a woman escaped from a makeshift “dungeon” made of cinder blocks in a man’s Oregon home, the FBI says it is looking for additional victims in other states.

The man, 29-year-old Negasi Zuberi, was taken into federal custody on suspicion of kidnapping across state lines after a woman from Seattle escaped from his home in Klamath Falls, Oregon, according to a news release from the FBI Portland Field Office. The woman also said she was sexually assaulted, the FBI said.

Zuberi, who has lived in at least 10 states since 2016, has been linked to violent assaults in at least four states, according to the FBI. Investigators have reason to believe there could be several other victims, the agency said. Zuberi was indicted by a federal grand jury in Oregon on one count of kidnapping and one count of transportation with intent to engage in sexual activity, court documents filed Wednesday show.
