Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

cross-posted from: https://piefed.blahaj.zone/c/lgbtq_plus/p/696268/tennessee-designates-june-nuclear-family-month-as-part-of-war-on-lgbtq-visibility

H.J.R. 182 says that heterosexual families are “God’s design for familial structure” and includes a list of statistics about “fatherless homes.” Anti-LGBTQ+ advocates usually cite the difference in outcomes for kids raised in single-parent households as evidence that same-sex couples are bad at raising children, even though the science shows that kids who come from queer families fare just as well as kids who come from straight families.

The resolution also denounces the “humanistic, globalist ideologies of the World Health Organization, the United Nations, and like-minded organizations that fight for population control.”

Are they going to make July “white male month”?

Conservatism is such a petty fucking ideology, just complete losers.

I want to put a bumper sticker on my car that says "Trans Girls are Hot" but where live get vandalized. I hate fucking conservatives. They are just bigots.

[–] Olgratin_Magmatoe@slrpnk.net 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Plenty of other spots to slap a sticker. No need to use your car.

Doing a bumper sticker bandit style thing by putting "trans girls are hot" over the top of Trump stickers would be far less damaging to your car.

Better yet, next time you're at a gas station, put a "Trans Girls are Hot" sticker on the pump instead of an "I Did That" Trump sticker.

Or both. Both is good.

You’re supposed to put it on their car.

Oh thank god! I was beginning to worry that our elected officials weren’t actually caring about the important issues. /s

And how does this make peoples lives better? How does this help with homelessness or the economy for example? Short answer… it doesn’t. Ffs.

The answer is Jesus. Duh. /s

If we keep pointing at LGBT+, maybe they won't notice we're money - worshipping pedophiles!

These moral degenerates, probably.

Nuclear family trends require good paying jobs, schools, and affordable housing. Otherwise it's multigenerational families in rental housing.

The resolution says that “God” wants all families to have “one husband, one wife.”

From the bill text:

WHEREAS, the nuclear family, consisting of one husband, one wife, and any biological, adopted, or fostered children, is God's design for familial structure and has been the bedrock of society since the creation of the world

Deuteronomy 21:15--17:

If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons but the firstborn is the son of the wife he does not love, when he wills his property to his sons, he must not give the rights of the firstborn to the son of the wife he loves in preference to his actual firstborn, the son of the wife he does not love. He must acknowledge the son of his unloved wife as the firstborn by giving him a double share of all he has. That son is the first sign of his father’s strength. The right of the firstborn belongs to him.

Quit faking concern for children when you have no problem with them being raped and abused once they're born.

[–] auntieclokwise@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Sorry, not sorry. It's still Pride Month, no matter what they say.

[–] Sylvartas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago

The resolution also denounces the “humanistic, globalist ideologies [...]".

It's always telling, when they spew "humanistic" as the first critique.

Do they promise to limit their conservative bullshit to one month? Please?
