Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Shit, what about the giant clouds of asbestos dust that wafted through DC when the demo happened? They absolutely did not do any of the required sampling, abatement, or control measures throughout the surprise demo.

Wait someone dumped Trump at a golf course?

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 1 day ago

No. Dump Trumped at White House.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 38 points 1 day ago

I'm more concerned about the walking, talking toxic debris wandering around the White House

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 35 points 1 day ago (2 children)

sigh. Of course they did. They've been dumping East Wing debris on East Potomac Links for months. And now they're planning to "renovate" those links. I can't figure out what incredibly cheap Trump-branded idiocy is going to end up there, but I'm sure something will. Now with added toxic waste!

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago

It'll probably be his presidential coloring book library

I can't figure out what incredibly cheap Trump-branded idiocy is going to end up there, but I'm sure *something* will. Now with added toxic waste!

Well given that it’s a dump-site on a golf course I’ll wager something to do with a pit full of the refuse and a bulldozer.

[–] MolochHorridus@piefed.social 6 points 19 hours ago

Better to dump it on the golf course than in the river or forest for example.

[–] plz1@sh.itjust.works 10 points 23 hours ago

Not reading it, but easily assumed it'd have, at minimum, lead and asbestos, based on the age.

[–] foodandart@lemmy.zip 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Lead and zinc are a given, if the rubble contains anything that was painted before the 1970's. Government contractors used lots of leaded paint, white paint esp.

[–] Fetus@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Roof flashings could be made of lead as well.

[–] foodandart@lemmy.zip 4 points 23 hours ago

Oh, most definitely for a building of that age.

[–] AmazingSUPERG@thelemmy.club 24 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Was it a Trump course or the competition?

[–] atzanteol@sh.itjust.works 14 points 22 hours ago

Public course. Basically how Trump treats the US.

It was just Trump based on that headline

[–] Sharkticon@lemmy.zip 8 points 1 day ago

Don't tell me, it's a public golf course isn't it?

[–] SGGeorwell@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Did they use it to further bury the DEAD EPSTEIN VICTIMS that they buried at the golf course?

[–] santa@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 day ago

This is par for the course as a T* sponsored demolition.

I'd rather toxic waste be dumped at a golf course than in wildlife habitat. Am I supposed to feel bad for these bougie assholes who already destroyed said habitat for their stupid game?

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 4 points 19 hours ago

It's actually a national park with ~20 dollar tee fees. If you're going to access the game for cheap anywhere it would be places like this. Until Trump sells it to his buddies or builds a giant dick monument at any rate.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 20 hours ago

unfortunately golf course are quite polluting thier runoffs will pollute nearby water sources.

[–] green_red_black@slrpnk.net 20 points 1 day ago (3 children)

The toxic waste dump would create more difficulty to rewildlife the golf course. Or do you think toxic waste doesn't harm flora and funa?

[–] einlander@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

Don't forget rainwater run off and the water table.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 7 points 1 day ago

It also travels. Soil, groundwater, and particulate matter in the air.

[–] fonix232@fedia.io 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

As if there was any chance of said golf course ever being rewildlifed...

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

True. Golf courses are famously meticulously quarantined environments where large-scale toxic waste would never leak out into the surrounding environment. I totally forgot too that "golf course" and "wildlife habitat" were both mutually exclusive and the only options for toxic waste disposal.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 2 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I'm pretty sure most golf courses are already mostly toxic pesticides and fertilizer anyway. And full of toxic people

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago)

thats what ruined a nearby lake that used to have fish in it, in the west coast. a golf course which ''rich people" including trump had visited in the past.

strong "we towed it outside the environment" energy

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

They should seize the means of the five iron! They have nothing to lose but a stroke under lead!

[–] atzanteol@sh.itjust.works 2 points 23 hours ago

Officer Obie is gonna be pissed.
