What do you mean it was all a scam? Trump is a god fearing Christian! Surely it is the fault of the next non-republican president from the future!

[–] jjlinux@lemmy.zip 4 points 20 minutes ago

This was nothing but a 60,000,000 dollars loan at 0% interest rate to probably invest in AI and then only return the 100 dollars to those who requested it. Nicely played 🀣

LMAO. I LOVE IT. Such an American thing for a president to scam his own voters. Literally scam them out of money.

They will moan a bit and then say "I would vote for him again" 🀣🀣🀣

The 's' in MAGAs is for submissive.

[–] Heikki2@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago

Is it a scam when you know it'll happen along based on patterns? Masochism is the term I think

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.cafe 1 points 38 seconds ago

That's okay, vote for him again. He's going to give you everything you're owed in his third term.

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 16 points 1 hour ago

Why would Obama do this? 😭

[–] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 12 points 1 hour ago

Instead this will just encourage the more.

"We wouldn't scam us again! He learned what he did wrong the first time!"

[–] cabillaud@lemmy.world 20 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

In a logical world, this would result in 600k less electors for the orange buffon, wouldn't it?

[–] matlag@sh.itjust.works 5 points 45 minutes ago

Nah. It's obviously someone else's faults because Trump never does anything wrong, ever, and saying this is because of Trump is probably treason or some shit.

And they will listen, conclude he's an admirable man and vote for him again if they have the opportunity.

It would also result in someone going to prison and paying back all the money they stole.

You have to be a special kind of dummy to even want that piece of shit in the first place. Idiot tax collected. Carry on, carrion!

[–] Bieren@lemmy.today 2 points 1 hour ago

They can’t stop winning!

[–] AccoSpoot1@lemmy.world 23 points 3 hours ago

Fascists ain't ever gonna stop getting scammed and it won't ever stop being funny.

[–] tristan@tarte.nuage-libre.fr 17 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

If you carry a scorpion on your back and you’re surprised when you get stung, maybe the problem less with you.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 7 points 4 hours ago

Doubly so when you keep letting the scorpion back on your back, and it stings you again, and you are equally surprised the next time.

Double-good. Idiots are parted from their money, and get irate at Trump.

Only drawback is that the money is now in the hands of the Trump clan, but given the mass robbing of the public and budget they are doing, this will amount to small change.

[–] db2@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago

Performative outrage that has zero staying power. He done worse to them and they still in the same breath say they'd do it again.

[–] UltraBlack@lemmy.world 23 points 6 hours ago (4 children)

Bro are these journalists high? Read the terms and conditions...

If you cancel your deposit before completing a purchase, you may request a full refund. Refund requests must be submitted through Trump Mobile customer support prior to completion of a final sale. If Trump Mobile cancels or discontinues the Device offering prior to sale, Trump Mobile will issue a full refund of the deposit amount paid.

[–] TryingToBeGood@reddthat.com 2 points 10 minutes ago

But see (from the article):

The clearest signal yet that buyers may never see either a phone or their money came with a revised terms of service published on 6 April 2026. The updated document states explicitly that paying a deposit 'does not constitute a completed purchase and does not create a binding legal contract.' The payment is described as 'a conditional opportunity to buy the device if Trump Mobile eventually chooses to sell it,' with the company retaining all control over whether a phone is produced at all.

[–] matlag@sh.itjust.works 2 points 39 minutes ago

The article clearly mentions the T&C were changed in April. Did you racually read it before getting mad at these journalists?

[–] Corporal_Punishment@feddit.uk 32 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Apparently the terms and conditions were changed quite recently to make it clear paying a deposit didnt guarantee anything.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 19 points 3 hours ago (3 children)

Changing the terms and conditions to say you are now allowed to steal from your customers doesn't seem like it would be legal. Which of course is why trump's doing it.

[–] dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works 2 points 55 minutes ago

Unfortunately, the onus would be on you to prove it in court if the company doesn't follow through. Nobody just shows up to call out a company for doing something that isn't enforceable.

Word to the wise, this is an "easy" way around most HOA rules: you just gotta have lawyer money and time.

[–] Randelung@lemmy.world 10 points 2 hours ago

Everyone's changing ToS on the fly nowadays. This isn't even special Trump fuckery. Having to agree to new ToS after a sale needs to be punished.

[–] cley_faye@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Yeah, it's illegal, but the premises where a bit murky too, so it cancels out.

Say the line maga, you know what it is:

β€œIT IS A GODDAMNED PRIVILEGE TO HAVE DONATED MY HARD-EARNED AMERICA DOLLARS TO THE MOST AMERICA PRESIDENT THERE EVER WILL BE! HALLELUJAH AMEN!”

[–] SocialMediaRefugee@lemmy.world 59 points 7 hours ago (6 children)

Normally I feel sorry for people who get scammed but in this case shitty people getting scammed by the scammer they inflicted on the rest of us don't get my sympathy.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 8 points 4 hours ago
