It's actually refreshing that it is not yet another SUV.
Electric Vehicles
Overview:
Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

I predict as Americans keep shooting up Ozempic, demand for fat vehicles will tail off.
I'm still bummed out that because of the floor battery pack the whole thing is still too tall like a crossover. Look at how tall these doors are. The wheels are enormous to visually compensate for the visual imbalance and it still can't fully achieve that. That thing would have looked absolutely sick had they managed to let the driver sit 6 inches lower and adjusted the whole body accordingly.
I personally prefer higher ground clearance because of the terrible potholes and huge dips on intersections in my city. Especially with the battery at the bottom of the car, I want to avoid damage risk to the undercarriage. A crossover aka lifted hatchback would be my ideal design. Not as big as an SUV, but has better clearance than a sedan.
Sure, just remove the battery. These EV platforms will be a common skateboard design, so get used to it.
This whole Hyundai/Kia platform is basically crossover SUVs at car height. I see Hyundai Ioniq 5s and Kia EV6s all over my city and they're basically the same height as Camrys and Accords and Priuses, just with a hatchback type rear door.
the skateboard platform of most e-v's necessarily make then taller
What if Lamborghini made a Prius?
The front frontend looks as pedestrian friendly as a Cybertruck. I don't like it.
While I agree its not terribly aestetic I think that low, aerodynamic hood design is actually pretty good for pedestrian sefety. You want to catch them low and let them go over the car as much a possible. It's the big flat trucks right at chest level that do the most damage.
That sharp angle will fracture a tib-fib as it gently scoops you onto the hood.
But it won't hit your vital torso organs, which is more important for pedestrian safety
At least it's not a SUV
it just looks like one?
It looks like the spawn of a Cybertruck and a Prius.
The Hyundai Ioniq Prius
More like a Lamborghini Ioniq Prius
Lambo? No... Cyberprius.
Eh, the front looks like "we have Lambo at home" more than any other car to me
Looks like if Toyota Prius was in Cyberpunk 2077
Looks better than the Ferrari Luce.
Low bar there.
Why does it look like a duracell battery.
Oh look another big ugly electric car. How original.
It's only 592 mm longer than the new Bolt which is the same size as the slightly longer Bolt EUV of the gen 1 Bolt family. I wouldn't consider it big, but yeah it's a bit ugly.
Even worse then: it looks big and is ugly
And even the Bolt is too tall, imho. I get the batteries need to be under the floor but I hate the upright seating position.
It's almost 20 cm shorter than a gen-1 bolt EV, which I agree is too tall. This is fine though, it's roughly the size of a mid 2010s midsize sedan in all dimensions.
