This community is focused on games, of all kinds. Any news item or discussion should be related to gaming in some way.

2. No bigotry or harassment, be civil

No bigotry, hardline stance. Try not to get too heated when entering into a discussion or debate.

We are here to talk and discuss about one of our passions, not fight or be exposed to hate. Posts or responses that are hateful will be deleted to keep the atmosphere good. If repeatedly violated, not only will the comment be deleted but a ban will be handed out as well. We judge each case individually.

3. No excessive self-promotion

This is to prevent people from posting for the sole purpose of promoting their own website or social media account.

4. Stay on-topic; no memes, funny videos, giveaways, reposts, or low-effort posts

This community is mostly for discussion and news. Remember to search for the thing you're submitting before posting to see if it's already been posted.

We want to keep the quality of posts high. Therefore, memes, funny videos, low-effort posts and reposts are not allowed. We prohibit giveaways because we cannot be sure that the person holding the giveaway will actually do what they promise.

5. Mark Spoilers and NSFW

Make sure to mark your stuff or it may be removed.

No one wants to be spoiled. Therefore, always mark spoilers. Similarly mark NSFW, in case anyone is browsing in a public space or at work.

6. No linking to piracy

Don't share it here, there are other places to find it. Discussion of piracy is fine.

We don't want us moderators or the admins of lemmy.world to get in trouble for linking to piracy. Therefore, any link to piracy will be removed. Discussion of it is of course allowed.

Good video, lots of excellent examples of the featureset.

Hopefully reservation emails start coming in soon. It's been over a month Valve!!!

Already received my controller from reservation, they're doing it

I reserved on 8 May at 13:23ETD (23 minutes after start). I got the email yesterday. I'm in Canada.

Good to hear, thanks for commenting.

They have been coming out in a very slow trickle. Some reports that it hasn't gone strictly in order of reservation either.

I haven't watched the review yet but I can say that I am completely happy with my purchase of the controller. It's all I ever wanted from a controller.

I really don't understand the people that say the price is too high compared to what you get. There is nothing comparable to it on the market. You can buy an Xbox Elite controller for more and get less.

God I really want one, but I can't really justify buying one. This review did not make me want one any less.

The only problem with this thing is the damn d-pad, it seems.

I wonder how he got the pads and gyro working on emulators. I can‘t get them to read the controller properly at all.

Probably launched them through Steam to use Steam Input.

Apart from the fact that Steam Input is a book with seven seals to me, it does not forward gyro input to any emulator I have tried. Not at all. It simply gets no gyro input when I try to set the button layout via emulator menu.

In fact I can‘t even get the gyro from the DualSense to work over Steam while it works out of the box without Steam running. I wish I could just tell Steam to not do anything but unfortunately Steam Input is mandatory for the Steam Controller.

I have tried to get it to work for endless hours and I‘m pretty sure it‘s actually not possible on Arch Linux or Wayland or both.

But I can’t really tell because nobody actually explains anything. It‘s very frustrating to keep reading „just use Steam Input bro“ as if that explains anything. What do you guys even mean by that? Do you have a step-by-step guide how to make gyro from the new Steam Controller readable for emulators? Because god knows the internet could need one.
