$500 for the console, $70-$100 per game which never go on sale, $20-$80 annual subscription for online service. All before tax.
I'm just gonna wait until there's an emulator, assuming I'm still interested at that point.

Been playing ToTK in an emulator, 4K @ 90FPS w/ DualSense controller. Plays just fine in Eden, just have to restart the emulator ever so often when it starts to slow down. Still better than paying so much money to play it on a Switch 2.
This is after fully completing everything in BotW using the CEMU emulator @4K, 120FPS with a DualSense controller. This game plays absolutely perfect in CEMU.
Donkey Kong Bananza is kind of like Super Mario Odyssey 2 and lots of fun and I had a good time with Hyrule Warriors: Age of Impriosnment.
Me and my fiancée have been getting our money's worth out of tomodachi and animal crossing. My fiancée isn't much of a gamer but the controls really clicked for her and she got super into both games.
Zelda Botw & especially Totk
Beating it is easy, but you can stay entertained hanging out in the world for a long time. In Totk, you can share build recipes and try a bunch of other people's whacky inventions
Also Smash Bros but, if you don't already know of it, it probably isn't your jam.
Mario Kart World's alright.

My wife got her money's worth out of Pokopia. If the idea of a Pokemon/Stardew Valley/Minecraft hybrid appeals to you, it should be worth the money. It wasn't developed by Gamefreak so it's actually good
Unfortunately there just isn't a lot of games for the Switch 2 specifically right now. A lot of games have an upgrade for the Swtich 2 like, Subnatica, Skyrim and No Man's Sky.
I think Kirby Air Riders kicks ass but some people bounced off it pretty hard. If you have the ability to try the first game it’ll give you a good idea as to if you’ll like the second.
Agreed. I almost bounced off the first game, but after seeing Sakurai's Direct for Air Riders, with a better understanding of how the game mechanics worked, I went back to Air Ride and warmed up to it. Air Riders completely won me over, especially with Road Trip. Such a seamless integration of the formula into a roguelite-esque single-player campaign!
I mean, game pricing isn't solely a Switch 2 problem. They cost the same as any new game on any other platform, beside for Mario Kart, which I agree is a mistake and not a good look.
I enjoyed Bananza and Pokopia. Bananza had me wanting to keep playing the entire time and Pokopia held me for 100 hours. Depends what kind of games you like. I also enjoyed Mario Kart, but you'd probably want that and something else, like DK to split your time.
The price is a switch 2 problem because they rarely discount their games and in the event they do, they never go for under 20% off.
It seems Nintendo is getting better about this though. During the later half of the switch 1s life their first party games have gone on sale for 33% off multiple times (botw, donkey Kong Country games, Mario Kart, xenoblade and more from what I have seen). It's just that this is only the digital versions. Physical copies? Yeah, you're right there.
Games are still too expensive at full price though and even with 33% off it is still usually too much for me if I'm not already familiar with the franchise and know I will enjoy the game.
