Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

In a sworn statement defending the trillionaire from a lawsuit alleging xAI data centers are illegally polluting Black communities, the Pentagon’s artificial intelligence chief said the chatbot’s continued operation is “a matter of paramount national security” — and was used to fire more than “2,000 munitions at 2,000 distinct targets within 96 hours.”

Explains how a girl's school got hit and how Iran managed to protect their ability to retaliate. Tech bros go to war.

That was even more fucked up than it originally seemed, it turned out they knew the map was wrong years ago but just didn't actually update their map. It was criminal negligence by those specific people who were informed of the school but failed to carry out their duty and instead allowed the school to remain on the targets list. There is no reason those specific people couldnt eventually be prosecuted if the rule of law is restored.

Elon Musk entered this conflict as a belligerent and should be treated accordingly

Even putting my opinions on using AI for military purposes aside (obviously very against it), Grok is truly and objectively the worst of the AI options to use for anything, let alone for actual military operations. Grok is Elon Musk’s personal gooner bot and it does nothing else well

How much do you think it would take to get the Pentagon to sue LLM companies for bad intelligence? With as much as this administration refuses to take blame for anything, if they'd just scapegoat the AI companies and sacrifice them on the altar of Trump's ego, we could at least get a small win out of this whole mess.

We are getting a small win. Trump has done more than anyone else to force the world onto green energy and away from fossile fuels. Apparently he's even given up on shutting down the approved solar and wind projects because everyone else is ignoring his desperate propping up of coal and oil.

Oh yay, Twitter shitposts are in command of the military.

I can't get AI to write code correctly the first time. Not sure I'd trust it to cook dinner let alone run targeting systems

More reason to boycott grok. The llm that sometimes identifies as mechahitler.

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Wait, I thought Grok was the one people use to make CSAM?

It was, child porn, non consensual deepfakes, mechahitler.

Plus it just sucks magnitudes worse than the others (facebook's is supposed to suck too.) Not that I would know I refuse to use any of them.

As to mechahitler, Musk went further in making his AI non woke than the rest. I strongly presume they all downgrade leftist influence because they are rich and leftists are threatening to them. But Musk just took it farther, then dialed it back slightly after mechahitler's appearance.

Mechahitler probably lives on in the computers at the pentagon

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 1 points 1 day ago

You know it.
