I believe, the post may get more attention with an informative title. I had a router that rebooted when torrent was started, so there may be issues with router and those may even be unfixable. That said, I don't know how to properly debug it, maybe there is traffic limiter in bazzite that you could use to try loading the router less and see if it helps

Im not realy used to look for attention. Do you habe tipps whats important in a titel?

What you're having a problem with, and what kind of trouble you're having. For instance, "My router crashes when I'm trying to update Bazzite. Help?" That way, people who actually know something about the topic are more likely to view your post.

Also, use the spacebar and don't abbreviate unnecessarily. The person who can help you might have English as their third or fourth language, and have a hard time decoding run-together gobbledegook.

Anyway, there are plenty of examples already in the community. It's often wise to check around to see how other people are doing things before you speak up.

Is the connection with the router that drops only on your pc, or is it the whole router going down? You can check this by having your phone connected to the wifi, without 4G/5G data enabled, while your pc is running updates. Try browsing the internet on your phone while the updates are running and see if the pages load. If your phone loses internet at that point too, then your router actually crashes and likely has a problem. Not much to do here except changing the router.

If it's just the wifi of your pc that drops the connection it might be that the wireless card has some compatibility issues (I have an old macbook air with the same problem - I workarounded it by buying a USB wifi adapter...).

The whole router restarts. The updates cant even Start.

Then you might be hitting some bugs in the router, and there's not much to do :/

It seems strange that it only happens when you run the updates, but I did see some cheap routers randomly restarting before when under heavy load, so it's not impossible. You should have been hitting the same problem with other downloads or steam though.

I'm unsure on what it could be, ans I don't have many other suggestions other than "try a new router", unfortunately :(

Why do you think your router is crashing? Is it overheating because you have stuff stacked on it maybe?

[–] Rumo161@feddit.org 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Its turning of any connection to the Internet and is visibly restarting. It just shuts oft.

Just on this one device, or all devices connected to WiFi?
