How tech companies feel after not hiring juniors and not caring at all about the massive future shortage of experienced developers that it will inevitability result in.

Apple too what they did to the photo app was horrible. I keep waiting for it to go back to being functional and it never does

You mean, like, ordering search results on YouTube by date?

It can be very challenging to disentangle yourself from Google services. Once you start, it's shocking how many different ways they hook into our lives.

But at least for me, it's been absolutely worth it.

Disagree strongly. Once you decide to degoogle, you'll start seeing how easy it is to get rid of 80% of their things. Some are instant swapovers (search, browser, password storage, etc). Some take a small effort (email, calendar, online storage, etc). Some are difficult (YouTube, photo backup, google maps traffic info, Android). You don't have to change everything in one go. Start small, go slow and you'll be amazed how far you get in 6 months.

Anyone staying with Google can't be surprised by disappointment.

Anyone trusting Google enough to use more of their services or pick up their new offerings, is a masochist and deserves the disappointment.

Fair enough. Thank you for sharing a different experience.

You mentioned part of the issue; there are so many different services you don't think of obviously. Of course, there's mail, but there's also storage and phone backups, maps, social media logins, shared documents and folders, photos, etc.

Absolutely the best way to do it is a little bit at a time. It's definitely not a weekend project. But it is very rewarding and very much worth it.

I deleted my google account something like 3 months ago and I think that was one of the best things I did in my life, honestly

I am still pissed that these fucks keep translating YT vids and giving it automatic voiceovers. My brother in the unholy ravioli, I speek 3 languages fluently and a few others badly, I don't need you translating videos and titels for me
