Returning to work today with the autistic feeling that I will be in trouble for something.

Hazel has a box.

This post is for casual conversation if you don’t feel like making a post of your own.

Thank you for your post, Hazel looks a lot like Fiona The highlight of my day is the iced coffee my wife made for me for my drive to work. I have a software development job where the lack of direction is anxiety inducing. Today I was able to work for about 10 minutes before I hit a dead-end (unreproducible bug, no logs) now I'm waiting to hear back on scheduling a call with the customer and browsing Lemmy until I get to go home. I feel insane pretending to look busy so that digital currency can be moved from one column to another, and in turn the global economy decides that I am allowed to have food, housing, and healthcare (USA).

Headache. My teeth hurt but I got an appointment on the second call instead of having to use their fuckshit A.I that can't do shit. Not until August though so hello weed gummies help me.

Found this while going through what appears to be nearly every appliance my husband's parents ever owned. Receipts, manuals. Some things are still in the house. Most are not.

Does anyone else sometimes feel alien when you learn that the general public cares about all sorts and I just don't even think about or understand why I should care about it.

I've got next to no stress about the average stuff everyone else (that aren't on the spectrum) does, Yet the little details of generally living my life etc make me really stressed/upset if it isn't correct or going how I think it should.

Unmet expectations, even for tiny things, are distressing for me too. Sometimes I think I should change, (e.g. I'd rather not lose my shit because someone moved my charger), other times I feel unchangeable and try to accommodate my different brain (e.g. lists! A million lists everywhere for everything!)

Your cat is adorable.

My back hurts and I don't know why. The most strenuous thing I did over the weekend was lifting a sewing machine. This is outrageous; I'm not even thirty. I should start exercising or doing yoga regularly to fend off back issues but I find it difficult to keep up habits. Ugh.

Had to call in sick because of some sort of abdominal pain that comes up every few months. Can’t tell what it is exactly but I had my appendix out already so at least it’s not that, lol. ACV + water seems to help. I get the sense that autistic folks tend to have more stomach issues than our allistic counterparts.

Might do some light gaming or drawing if I feel better by the late morning. I also have my cats to keep me company if nothing else, and they can be pretty entertaining.

Interesting, didn't know it was common for GI issues in people with autism. Kinda thought it was just me 😅

Nope not just you. It's why many of us are "picky" eaters I think.
