Of course another old white dude somehow finds a way to say LLMs are great when they are exiting the industry they worked in for years...Strange how this keeps happening, it changed what I was going to say. I was going to congratulate him, as he was bowing out of the industry at the right time, instead of pushing ahead after the Callisto Protocol flop...Seeking rest and relaxation was the better option.

Last year, Schofield said that he was “100% behind AI,” in game development, comparing worries over the technology eliminating jobs to the motion capture or Photoshop.

Oh so he's a hack. Now we know why The Callisto Protocol sucked.

Scofield's approach to gaming over the last decade or so was basically "the more money we spend, the better the game will be" so it's really no surprise he supports the most wasteful technology in the history of computing.

Lol, I can't put my finger on it but that makes a lot of intuitive sense to me. Maybe because he started out at EA where he accidentally made some great art for a while before the tides shifted toward squeezing consumers even more aggressively.

He had two good dead space games under his arm but i always felt that what this team's legacy to gaming was more about seamless ui and diagetic interface design.

Back in the day the dead space games had the common criticism of mistaking being loud and in your face with being horror, and over reliying on "shooting galleries" of respawning enemies. The callisto protocol ran with these flaws and made them worse to the point where in late levels progression felt choppy and repetitive because you just knew there was another closed space with monsters spawning from vents around the corner that ruined the atmosphere.

I always wanted to like their games, hell i remember enjoying dead space 2 even if the overall game was very forgettable as a horror fan. It kind of makes sense that this guy sees promise in generstive AI because a lot of the creative decisions and writing of his games feel lacking substance.

I just found out he was game director of blood omen 2 of the legacy of cain series? That is the one legacy of cain game i never played and now i am itching to try it.

I did like Blood Omen 2, but it's vastly different from the rest of the series so it may be a bit of a shock to LoK fans.

Amy Hennig wasn't part if the project, so some of the writing and lines feel out of place, particularly so by characters like Janos Audron and Vorador.

IMO the other games in the series performed so well BECAUSE of Amy's storytelling ability.

The final level has some glitches and the in-engine cutscenes audio isn't synced with characters mouth animations. I always thought this was a problem with my disc growing up, but recently replayed on emulator and the exact same issue happened.

All that said, as usual with any LoK project, expect absolutely stellar voice acting by Simon Templeman (Kain).

Besides his shit opinions on AI I will forever love this man for having anything to do with Dead Space. Game is still in my top 5 if not too 3 best games. I go back and play it at least once a year.

I hope he has a great retirement and really enjoys whatever he decides to do.
