"Man who is leaving the party anyway tries to get extra concessions on his way out." FTFY

[–] Heikki2@lemmy.world 61 points 7 hours ago (3 children)

Man. Brain damage did a number of him. Gabby Gifford was shot in the head and didn't turn conservative

[–] TranscendentalEmpire@lemmy.today 12 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Because he was already a shitbags before his stroke. The stroke just made it harder for him to hide his power level.

Fetterman was just a rich kid who's daddy's money has backed his entire career. His dad is the owner and CEO of an insurance company and is a long time big Republican donor. Fettermans entire career has been faking blue collar credentials while being an asshole contrarian.

When he was mayor he raised prices for locals by turning his town into a vacation town for his rich friends. He also held a random black jogger at gun point because he suspected him of doing a crime. His constituents and coworkers hated him.

As Lt governor he barely showed up to work and missed one third of the mandatory state Senate sessions he was supposed to oversee. The guy has always been a lazy asshole, the stroke just made it come to the surface.

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 19 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I've seen comments from people in his constituency that said the stroke didnt change shit, that he's always been a piece of shit, even before he was in public office.

If he has another stroke, he'll probably start murdering Palestinians personally and cut out the middle man.

[–] NM_Gringo@lemmy.world 39 points 7 hours ago

Don't wait. Leave now you stroked out bitch.

Fuck you dirtbag, go away like the garbage you are.

[–] ToiletFlushShowerScream@piefed.world 23 points 6 hours ago (3 children)

So he will sell out his own countrymen for loyalty another country? What happened to when you could be hanged for being a traitor?

[–] MML@sh.itjust.works 1 points 45 minutes ago* (last edited 45 minutes ago)

Katara voice: some believe you still can.

[–] Napster153@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

"Every life is sacred (especially criminals and villains above all others)."

  • the actual Western Justice System.
[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 7 points 5 hours ago

i don't know if theres enough rope in the country to hang the traitors, at this point.

Doesnt mean we shouldnt give it the ol' college try.

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 26 points 7 hours ago

Bye, bitch.

I remember getting downvoted to hell when I used to say “this guy just wears hoodies and shorts and makes a big deal out of acting like a regular Joe, but he’s a silver spoon nepo baby who’s playing you all”

I don’t feel great that I was right, but I saw his bullshit from miles away, it’s the same as when a political takes off his tie and rolls up his sleeves to pretend he’s one of us.

I mean you basically left the left the moment you had a stroke.

[–] rockSlayer@lemmy.blahaj.zone 40 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (1 children)

He was never with the left. He succeeded where Platner failed: using the desperation for left wing politics to advance right wing causes

[–] Rooskie91@discuss.online 3 points 1 hour ago

He only ever appeared left because he hired a bunch of young people to run his campaign.

As soon as he was elected he stopped appearing to be progressive because he either fired his election staff or they quit when they realized who he really was.

Before he was a senator he was a mayor of a small town in the middle of PA and held a black man at gunpoint because the man was going for a run in the town he was mayor of.

He's always been a piece of shit.

[–] crusa187@lemmy.ml 78 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

The chances of Dems adopting such a stance are approximately 0. All Fetterman is doing here is proudly proclaiming who he works for.

It’s a shame PA doesn’t allow recall elections for elected officials, and I sincerely hope Pennsylvanians tell Fett to fuck off to Tel Aviv in the ‘28 election.

[–] SailorFuzz@lemmy.world 72 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

this is why there needs to be a recall mechanism for congress and senators. Dude ran as a Democrat and is now saying "haha, Ima go be a republican now" and all the people who voted for him can do nothing for 6 fucking years.

[–] Kyrrrr@mander.xyz 20 points 7 hours ago (3 children)

Our representatives should be afraid when they don't represent us. Organize and give public servants reasons to resign when they betray their electorate. And if they don't like that, they can make a law that allows for recalls. Not sure if there are many other ways to get that law passed

[–] hanrahan@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

i mean, you can just vote them out if they betray you, It's what elections are for...One can assume people (majority of voters) are happy with the likes of John, Mitch etal because people keep reelecting them

[–] Septimaeus@infosec.pub 1 points 41 minutes ago

Did you not read the comment above this one? The premise and working knowledge of everyone reading this is, specifically, the opposite of what you just wrote.

Let’s see. 2023… carry the one… it seems that would be… ah yes. 2028.

[–] lemmylump@lemmy.world 6 points 6 hours ago
