When politicians say things like that with no repercussions, that's when you should know you are no longer in a respectable democracy

Example:

- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. - Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

Tommy Tuberville sounds like a Stan Lee character that Spider-Man fights as a villain when he tries to go on holiday.
This should be an impeachable offense for any elected official.
I agree! And since we're dreaming, we need a way for the People to directly impeach federal employees. I'm so sick of witnessing impeachable offenses on a daily basis while our "representatives" sit on their thumbs, counting their bribes.
This is a nice case study about why democracies should never ever ever tolerate the existence of zones outside the rule of regular law. Guantanamo in this idiot's brain is a stand-in for an oubliette.
Ironically, this rhetoric from a politician should be an arrestable offense.
Sure. If he actually has an arrest warrant out for him. WHICH HE DOESN'T. Do you know who does? BIBI!

I'm really curious if he/they recognized the meme potential of this when they made it. They both seem pretty smart, so I think it has to be a consideration at least. Maybe it was the entire goal? Regardless, it's perfect and I love seeing it every time.
I'll always laugh at this, it fits everything
Funny coming from a guy who should be hung.
Not to be a nitpicker, but its "hanged" not "hung". Hung is the past tense of hanging something up (Jimmy went and hung up his coat). The past tense of the execution is hanged (Jimmy was hanged at dawn in town square).
How is that not being a nitpicker? From the MW usage guide.
The distinction between hanged and hung is not an especially useful one (although a few commentators claim otherwise). It is, however, a simple one and certainly easy to remember. Therein lies its popularity. If you make a point of observing the distinction in your writing, you will not thereby become a better writer, but you will spare yourself the annoyance of being corrected for having done something that is not wrong.
They were used completely interchangeably for centuries and still are to some extent. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
e: shrugger lost his arm
Hung has another definition too
Hey now! There could be young children reading this! Keep it PG-13.
Yeah I messed it up, I’m watching that Backrooms movie right now and it’s not helping my thinking.
Poor Jimmy though. Must have been one hell of a thing to hang up that coat. xD
Checks out, since Guantanamo Bay is for people who can't be charged with anything.
And disappear for forever
They're pissing their pants.
"The poors are learning about socialism!"
Arrested for what, exactly? What fucking law?
Who is going to stand up to these people?
For being against Israel.
I understand.
What actual law?
The law that lil' ol' Tommy Tuberville came up with in his silly lil' brain.
God, he's such a fucking cretin. I absolutely loathe him.
Guess ol Tommy had to say something ridiculous to get back in the news. Probably had to go see the king and needed some recognition.
He should fall down more stairs.
He should fall down more stairs.
They're so old and staying in office so long that falling on the stairs is a real possibility.
Potatotown isn't that old. Just painfully stupid.
He's genuinely barely sentient.
This is the same cumstain who blocked military promotions to stick to the leftist. Go get Graham'ed
Tuberville is speaking about what he knows best, for he is the very definition of "thug." Must be feeling very threatened by Mamdani to be going this far overboard in his projection.
Alabama is gonna Alabama from Florida, I guess.
