the ideology of these guys is so ridiculous

"oh yea i’m such a tough manly man, when there’s a zombie apocalypse while all you soyboys die i’ll be surviving in my manly cabin and providing for my family 😎😎😎

huh? a pandemic? i need to stay at home and wear a mask in public? this is infringing upon my rights!!! this is violating my freedom to go to mcdonalds!!! i will roll over you in my oversized air conditioned monster pickup for this!!!"

Made me chuckle, thanks

Tough men don't tend to brag about their toughness and use it put down others. If you're so insecure that you make posts like this you're not nearly as tough as you think you are.

[–] psycotica0@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 day ago

The really sad thing is that there's almost something to this. There are practical everyday skills that would be useful in an emergency.

The problem is that these doinks have decided that being an asshole or misogynist has anything to do with felling a tree or making a fucking cottage. No one thinks fixing a car is Toxic Masculinity dipshits. You're not Toxic because you can pour concrete, you're Toxic because you put your hand up the waitress's skirt, and that has nothing to do with God damn concrete.

You wanna be strong and supportive, how about being strong and supportive 365 days of the year when there isn't a zombie apocalypse or natural disaster, rather than fantasizing about one day being able to wield your skills as leverage to coerce people into having to put up with your bullshit.

Get fucked, I don't want to live in the compound you've decided you're king of, I'd rather feed the local wolves.

Oh no! The grid went down, I'll go build a log tent 5 meters from my log cabin

[–] JustJack23@slrpnk.net 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

They are planning to repopulate the earth by themselves and need more living space.

[–] MoonMelon@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 day ago

Your log cabin that doesn't have grid power to start with.

[–] _lilith@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This has fucking levels damn

1 chopping block with axe but no firewood being chopped for log cabin that, by the smoke already had a fire going

2 hammering generator, randomly sitting in a field next to a cabin with no power hookups

3 lit lanturn in the day time

4 building log tent thing when there is a cabin there

I'm sure I missed some, these are becoming like the spot the differences things they print in the newspaper but the difference is between reality and the fever dream of a man with a beard fetish

  1. chopped so hard they went flying. Always need more hard, hard, hot wood to stay warm at night when the blanket is on the floor.

  2. it's hard to focus when you're the youngest, on your knees, next to your bros who are working hard to take care of you.

  3. cozy.

  4. hello? Have you no joy or whimsy? It's okay to have fun with your ~~roommates~~ bros and create forts to cuddle together in.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Three dudes that all have and love the same body type, clothing, style, hairstyle, and beardstyle... Living alone and surviving together, secluded in the woods in a VERY small, cozy cabin.

Huh.

"Y'all are just weak. Nobody likes or needs pussies, only hard, hairy men."

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 15 hours ago)

The beards on these fascist idiots ARE on point, though.

And I'm not ONLY saying so because my own is similar 😁

[–] CapnCat@hexbear.net 21 points 1 day ago

Let's be real, the most capable and resourceful person in that scenario is going to be a 45 year old single mother who's had to deal with the wiring in a shitty apartment

[–] Danarchy@lemmy.nz 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I see the three bears but where’s Goldilocks

In the cabin where they left him

[–] fox@hexbear.net 19 points 1 day ago

Tough, calloused men who don't know how to wash their ass or engage in mutualist relationships with their broader community. These lone wolves will die of ass infections out in the woods watching the glowing lights of the solar-powered commune. Dying of malnutrition because eating vegetables is gay.

[–] Ariselas@piefed.ca 26 points 1 day ago (2 children)

By the looks of that cabin, I think we all know where this story is going

plot twist: they're in a gay menage a trois

[–] deathmetaldawgy@lemmy.ml 11 points 1 day ago

They’re just fishing buddies …

thanks hotcock

To be fair, linemen (the high voltage guys who fix the grid) are usually tough as nails. These guys look like their dad worked in construction.

[–] SoyViking@hexbear.net 13 points 1 day ago

I'm sorry Kyle, beating a diesel generator with a hammer is not going to help much with fixing the power grid. Also, you're holding that hammer wrong.

Calloused != callous so I don't really expect them to be able to understand toxic masculinity is not required for being handy 🤷‍♀️

Also I'm staying the fuck away from angry power fantasy men during emergencies thanks.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Truly confident men aren't threatened by feminism. Acting in a way that earns the label "toxic masculinity" is itself a mark of weakness, not strength.

Just sayin'.

[–] TheLastHero@hexbear.net 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

wife kicked him and their two large adult sons out of the log cabin for being annoying now they have to sleep under a lean-to in the front yard

[–] axont@hexbear.net 5 points 1 day ago

I love to build a log tent thing when I have a perfectly fine cabin 100 feet away

[–] Saymaz@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 1 day ago

Such a cute gay polycule! 🥰

[–] davel@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Peak what? I’m old and need it spelled out.

[–] hamid@crazypeople.online 7 points 1 day ago

The slop makes it just perfect

[–] AlphaOmega@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Gotta hammer that generator

Driftwood Days? Some of the ones I've seen make me suspicious that it might be satire.
