I want to believe, but unfortunately doubt it. If Americans cared about candidates being young, they probably wouldn't have elected geriatrics 3 times in a row, each time older than the previous one on the inauguration day. The trend is completely backwards
AOC has a fanbase, but I don't think she has the institutional support. Not talking about the DNC, but about unions and other organizations that make up a huge part of the get-out-the-vote machine for the left.

As a non-American, I agree. Trump didn't have institutional support either, he was a meme candidate. Turns out having an actual base is more important than being the least offensive to the most amount of people.
What's more, the perception of being the anti-establishment vote was a tailwind for Trump. The non-voting block is a third of all eligible voters, those people don't get out to vote because the unions tell them to, they're only going to vote if they feel like there's an actual chance of representation.
Progressives should stop apologizing to centrists and moderates. Listening to an placating these people is what got us here in the first place. And if, in the choice between AOC and Trump they choose Trump, then they weren't really moderates to begin with.
Still think she can do more bossing Congress. Slide into the senate and power broker for 20 years.

She would make a great president. She can't win, though. The DNC will run Newsom and give AOC the Bernie treatment. If they try to run a Trump or James David on the right, she could slaughter them with the right VP, but the money won't let it happen.

Nah. She's not like Bernie. Bernie reached people on the other side. Lots of conservatives and centrists agreed with him on principle in a lot of topics. But AOC, oh buddy, they despise her. She would be an amazing president, not a snowflakes chance in hell she would win.
Only 30% of America is conservative. If she can get the 40% on the left to Pokemon go to the polls, she wins.
