Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Just thinking that some of my federal tax is going to Israel, which is then funneled back through AIPAC to buy attack ads, political operatives, and media time for both Republicans and Democrats to defeat him. If it's not too late, they will finance an independent candidate to siphon votes from him? And I'm paying for it all! Fun huh?

It’s almost like how a tumor hijacks your blood supply in order to get better at killing you.

You think that's bad? Angioleviticus is worse.

[–] ToiletFlushShowerScream@piefed.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

For 5 seconds I almost looked that up! Now I feel dumb. Well done

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Awwww, just making a terrible joke, not trying to fool you. <3

I don't remember anyone with that name in that band.

I adjusted my W-4 to send as little money as is legally possible to the government until tax season. They can get the rest then. Until that point I'll just accrue the interest on what was being withheld and they can find other short term funding for proxy wars.

MAGA acolytes were having a meltdown at the prospect of an El-Sayed victory - particularly after he unapologetically used the phrase “inshallah”—“God willing” in Arabic

Lol fucking Republican morons

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

"Melts down"

Yup, not reading that...

I assume that at most we're talking about a couple of asshats posting their frustration on Twitter.

When listening to their debate, I didn't know it was about the primaries and I really thought that Haley Stevens was an anti-Trump Republican or something. It is actually crazy that people call the Democrats 'left'.

[–] monkeyslikebananas2@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago (5 children)

She probably is an anti-Trump Republican. All the Republicans who can’t stomach Trump started moving to the Democratic Party. But they aren’t changing their beliefs, they are changing the party.

Either the GOP gets healthy or dies. There is a need for a progressive party.

It is actually crazy that people call the Democrats ‘left’.

To quote from one of the classics:

Where is the party in opposition that has not been decried as communistic by its opponents in power? Where is the opposition that has not hurled back the branding reproach of communism, against the more advanced opposition parties, as well as against its reactionary adversaries?

I've seen Democrats label Republicans "communist" for almost as long as I've seen Republicans accusing Democrats of the same. In a country of, by, and for fascists, all "Left" means is "I hate you".

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Many of them are to the left of the fascists. But that's a low fucking bar.

“Abdul El-Sayed winning a Senate seat would be as dangerous as Mamdani winning as Mayor in New York. Does no one in America know what Islam stands for?” lamented commentator Joey Mannarino.

You mean the Mamdani who fixed all the potholes in New York City in record time? The same Mamdani who cleared the snow in record time? The Mamdani who's helping grocery store prices? The be really clear, the Mamdani who Trumpty has a man crush on?

[–] MyVeryRealName@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

They certainly don't know what Christianity stands for.

[–] bunnybunny@lemmy.zip 14 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

How many times can MAGA meltdown?

[–] AFaithfulNihilist@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

Don't you remember all those times they were threatening to go nuclear? A nuclear meltdown lasts ages and continues throwing off toxic byproducts the whole time.

I think we're underestimating the importance of encasing mega in cement and burying it under a mountain as quickly as possible.

[–] dreamkeeper@literature.cafe 4 points 2 weeks ago

Their brains are mostly liquid so a perpetual meltdown is completely feasible

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 13 points 2 weeks ago

Sadly, they did not literally melt down. They're still out there, wastefully breathing air and occupying space, and still trying to persecute innocent people and to steal everything they can grab.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Of course it's Daily Beast. I refuse to read or upvote that shit.

Now, if a good source was presented, that'd be fine. Daily Beast is useless.

Garbage site that seems to spin everything as the end of the world for the GOP. according to DB the GOP have fallen apart a hundred times in the past week every week for the past year and are in total panic constantly. Doesn't seem to be the case.

The masses are certainly losing faith in the gop platform aside from the diehards, but the core people, about 40% give or take, don't seem to ever really budge.
