Hello fellow Far Side fans!

About this community and how I post the comic strip… Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips and one of those was The Far Side. These days of course you find just about anything online including www.thefarside.com where they post several comics a day and I repost them here. Just to note, the date you see in my posts is not the initial release date, but the date they were posted on the website.

The Far Side is a single-panel comic created by Gary Larson and syndicated by Chronicle Features and then Universal Press Syndicate, which ran from December 31, 1979, to January 1, 1995 (when Larson retired as a cartoonist). Its surrealistic humor is often based on uncomfortable social situations, improbable events, an anthropomorphic view of the world, logical fallacies, impending bizarre disasters, (often twisted) references to proverbs, or the search for meaning in life… Read more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Far_Side

Hope you enjoy and feel free to contribute to the community with art, cool stuff about the author, tattoos, toys and anything else, as long it’s The Far Side!

I'd also like to take this moment to say, if someone figured out how to make taco truck work like icecream trucks, drive around selling tacos in random neighborhoods, i think they'd be wildly popular too

NGL, if they showed up out front, pulled some young asparagus out and grilled it up almondene, I'd buy it rn.

I also didn't eat breakfast this am, so i might be biased.

How should they serve that, out of curiosity? Skewered like a kebab? Rolled up in waxed paper?

FWIW in this case it seems likely they would have just peeled open a room-temp tin and stuck a spoon in it or something 😭

Paper plate with bamboo fork and a napkin

Exact same thought. There's some places where this food truck would do pretty well

I've wondered more than once if a roving farmstand truck would work.

Like fresh vegetables? That's interesting. They'd probably have to be ones that people are usually down to just eat raw

There are places that have done delivery frozen and delivery meats over the years, but what if you just filled up a truck around tomato or jalaeno harvest and hawked it driving through thriving high density communities.

There's a local farm near me that imports all the other local farms stuff and sells it in a small grocery store.

There's plenty of uncivilized places in the world where fruit and vegetable stands set up shop daily where God intended there to be a 2013 Honda Odyssey parked forever.

In Germany, this could be a success

Ah yes, good old GOOD boomer humor

Yeah. The closest I think Larson ever got to "I hate my wife" was the gorilla telling her husband, "Another human hair? You've been hanging out with that Jane Goodall tramp again!"

This would probably make asparagus more appealing to kids, since they get to learn cool new words too

I started eating asparagus more as a kid when l learned it made your pee smell weird. I especially liked any leftovers the next morning before school.

Fuck it, gimme the asparagus!
