CEO and CMO out of office:

[–] cro_magnon_gilf@sopuli.xyz 2 points 6 days ago

Nice. Precisely at the moment of realisation!

[–] Waterpumpee@lemmus.org 107 points 1 week ago (2 children)

For a minute i thought CMO is the Chief Milk Officer. Apparently it stands for marketing.

[–] atro_city@fedia.io 41 points 1 week ago

You saw milkers and immediately went for it. My an.

[–] kuberoot@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 week ago

I've played a bunch of medical in SS13, so CMO immediately makes me think Chief Medical Officer

Are those random people or celebs?

[–] Syndication@lemmy.today 51 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Just a bunch of the richest assholes in the world who happened to be sitting next to eachother at a New York Knicks game. Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, and Michael Bloomberg. It would be funny(well, just more depressing) if they all worked at some AI company tho!

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm so glad I didn't recognize a single one of them by appearance alone.

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I wonder how many celebs actually like basketball and how many just like the fact that the seats are right next to the players so they're more likely to end up on TV.

[–] rustydrd@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

The Knicks actually have quite a few celebrity fans who visit games regularly. Jon Stewart, Spike Lee, Ben Stiller, Alicia Keys, Michael J Fox, and Adam Sandler are a few I can think of who fit that category. Chalemet is a pretty big sports fan, too, including basketball.

[–] talentedkiwi@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What about the dude on the right? Is that just some guy?

[–] decolo@piefed.social 3 points 1 week ago

Presumably you saw from the other comments that they are, in fact, all executives of an AI startup in addition to being celebrities

[–] tmyakal@infosec.pub 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

One on the left line line Mike Bloomberg.

[–] atro_city@fedia.io 2 points 1 week ago

Mike Bloomberg goddamn, that dude is rich.

[–] inari@piefed.zip 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The one wearing jeans played Paul Atreides in Dune

[–] atro_city@fedia.io 4 points 1 week ago

Timothée Chalamet. Had to look him up. That does look like him.

[–] Transform2942@lemmy.ml 28 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Surely this is a joke right?

Is that gray spectre on the left not Michael Bloomberg?

[–] fake@sh.itjust.works 79 points 1 week ago (3 children)

No, dead serious, Michael Bloomberg, Timothee Chalamet, Kylie Jenner and Jake from linus tech tips have an AI startup.

[–] Transform2942@lemmy.ml 22 points 1 week ago

Wow that is stranger than fiction

[–] stankcheez@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

the AI hype cycle has blown past NFT levels of stupidity

[–] starchylemming@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago (3 children)

i dont like blimothy.

i wish they casted literally anyone else for dune, since his dumb face is pretty much the only thing i dislike about it

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's not my favorite actor, but he's fine. Why don't you like him? I think he's alright as Paul. Maybe there's some unknown person who's the right age who could have been better, but he's the only actor I know who was the right age who's good enough for the role. My issues with the movies don't really involve him.

[–] WalleyeWarrior@midwest.social 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I thought he was good as Paul. Paul is a whiny rich little shit in the books. He isn't really charismatic and only succeeds through his spice visions and by piggybacking off of the Missionaria Protectiva.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, but he doesn’t have to act like it. IMO I find Chalamet flat with no range.

[–] WalleyeWarrior@midwest.social 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

So your complaint is that he played the character like the original text presents him?

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Lol, I never got that from the books. I find that Chalamet plays pretty much the same character no matter what he does.

castrated

edit: btw thank you for helping me improve. that was totally a language blind spot for me

So hard to tell billionaires apart from other Greater Monsters lately

[–] drolex@sopuli.xyz 19 points 1 week ago

No serious startup would work without a Choccy Milk Officer, a Coffee and Tiramisu officer or a Chocolate and Fudge officer

[–] Avicenna@programming.dev 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] inari@piefed.zip 16 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Chief Marketing Officer, I think

[–] Avicenna@programming.dev 4 points 1 week ago

Ofcourse they had to give them a three letter acronym so they feel better about themselves. I guess next is CHO

[–] Polisheocket@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

This is correct

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

What's the matching symbol on their clothes? I'm assuming it's some brand the idiots are enamored with.

[–] mastod0n@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Sent this to my CTO friend and he started arguing.
