I have a lot of respect for Max and have enjoyed his content since before Street Fighter 4. Unfortunately, he immediately went to the PS5 version after uninstalling on Steam, which seems to be Sony's intent. "Look! See? PC is bad! PS5 is the only way to play Tokon!"

The PC version's EAC completely prevents the game from running on Linux, locking it out of Steamdeck and Steam Machine.

It requires PlayStation account login, blocking many countries from playing (Really, Sony? Helldivers 2, much?).

The game runs multiple Sony SDK's in the background that tank performance. And cause desync when playing online.

PS5 players are also disabling crossplay because of the desync when playing with PC opponents, further limiting and alienating the PC playerbase.

Frankly, the PC release comes off as just plain hostile.

And despite implementing EAC they intentionally made the game just not work on Linux. That killed any interest I had, I'm not surprised about the horrible port in the slightest

Yeah, usually ArcSys games run just fine on Linux and PC in general. But I guess Sony's involvement required making everything crap

Yeah... The fediverse audience skews towards Linux, so maybe we're a vocal minority about this, but I'm with you.

I love ArcSys' fighting games, and as a Linux user I can play many of them. I also don't think cheating in rollback/p2p netcode based fighting games is a big problem. So, I'm certainly not going to go out of my way to support a game like Tokon that not only has a bad PC port in general, but also has a pointless anti-Linux anti-cheat configuration.

Really annoying that they've messed this one up, but there are other good fighting games to play.

How the hell is the progress not synced if you need to log in into PSN to play on PC?

You log in for the privilege, not for the benefits.

We really need a solid open source fighting game. I think it would make a lot of sense.

yeah make it like challenge of the gods and heroes and use all the public domain mythology stuff.

We need gamers to support syndicates.
