Did not go into it with high hopes. It was kinda strange. Like man at arms is kinda a jerk but then you see oh he has to be because they are doing something with the dad who is a jerk and they are going somewhere with this and they kinda did but not really. Many things are there that need some explanation and never really get it. Things also happen at almost random times. Like there are things that needed to happen and kinda just dropped in a place. It had no flow. It was like it was trying to be both a campy send up to the franchise but also wanted to be gritty but also wanted to go off the beaten track. So here is where I am going to broach a subject that is quite hot in the fediverse. Im not trying to just play to the choir but man. It really feels like someone took all the masters of the universe stuff they had and a whole bunhc of convos among the fans and through it into a llm and told it to come up with a script. To boot there is some really crappy, creepy, special effects at a few points in the end. I did not want to get into spoilers if anyone who has not seen it would really care honestly. Its hot garbage. But man it was just wierd to watch.

Yeah, better watch the Netflix He-man mini series.

I grew up on he-man and also went into it with no hopes at all.. it surpassed my zero expectations. It had a few funny moments and some fan service thrown in.. I am sure I will never watch it a second time, but it was a little better than I expected.

It was bland. I watched it less than a week ago and it's fading from memory fast. I would not recommend it to the older siblings who grew up on He-Man and She-Ra. Nothing terrible, just milquetoast.

Speaking as said older sibling (not yours but someone’s), sigh thanks for the warning, I guess. I was gonna catch it at some point but maybe it’s not worth it. The She-Ra show from a few years ago is pretty good though.

It was fun. It’s not a cinematic masterpiece but I didn’t want it to be.
