I don't know much about Japanese work or family culture, but.... Why does everybody hate you, including your wife AND kids? Either you're a giant piece of shit, or everybody else is.
Greentext
This is a place to share greentexts and witness the confounding life of Anon. If you're new to the Greentext community, think of it as a sort of zoo with Anon as the main attraction.
Be warned:
- Anon is often crazy.
- Anon is often depressed.
- Anon frequently shares thoughts that are immature, offensive, or incomprehensible.
If you find yourself getting angry (or god forbid, agreeing) with something Anon has said, you might be doing it wrong.
I assumed it was the typical boomer "my family hates me" dynamic, a.k.a OP is indeed a shit
Be Japanese
Have dead-end job in back of office
No work to do, no upward mobility, no future opportunities
Collect a steady paycheck every two weeks. Feels-Good-Man.jpg
New PM takes office. Goes full MAGA nationalist. Picks trade wars. Starts fights with neighbors. Alienates people inside our own sphere of influence even.

Oh shit, bros. Looks like its another All-Ramen month again.
The new PM started on Oct 2025, clearly according to the graph the economy was already bad by then
Her party (the LDP) has been in power (except for like 4 years) for 6 decades straight. Turns out classic liberals (ie conservatives) don't have any answers when things start going to shit.
I just looked it up and 26 out of the nation's 28 presidents have all been LDP. They have dominated since 1955.
In other words, Japan has also seen tremendous growth under the LDP. So it seems a bit reductionist to judge the party based on the performance of the past 10 years.
The new PM started on Oct 2025
The Liberal Democrats have been in charge since 2012.
So in your comment why did you call out just the new PM? And the LDP has dominated since 1955, so Japan did quite well under them too, for many years.
But that exact thing happened in USAmerica when they did it? Who could've predicted this result!?!?
I read the whole thing as a psyop from Russia and China. How to break up NATO? Get its members to disrespect each other
Boss can't fire me because i'm japanese
well obviously this is not real
They can but it's unusual. They have an honor system and expect people to quit. They'll go as far as sticking people in a room with nothing to do and not able to sleep until they give up, essentially adult time out.
It’s unusual because it’s a pain in the ass for the company legally. And the honor system is more like hey please quit or we’ll try to make life hell.
They expect to own you until the day you die.
Interviewed for a job there. They asked how long I would want to work for them. Told them I'd absolutely love to work for them as long as they can host my visa, and I'd love to even become a citizen.
That... Was not the right answer.
The interview was over from them on.
I still do not know what I said wrong. They don't allow remote work so... Do they want me to become an illegal just to work for them?
Probably the visa aspect. Japan is like famously racist and xenophobic.
I'm so at my wits end with hiring managers that I would just email "okay so what was the right answer??"
I don't know the full story, but that is apparently somewhat true. That's why you'll hear in games and manga that someone in a fairly auspicious position will get punished by cleaning toilets or something.
I see. That's incredibly based then?
Yeah, no, when someone’s secluded, they’re often put in an empty room without so much as a window, and given literally nothing to do, but sit there. Can’t even have a phone out. It’d drive me mad enough to quit, and the same is true of lots of people.
This would be considered power harassment in Japan and you can sue for it. Companies try to do it anyways though.
This is the story of a man named Stanley...

imaginary friend game weak
It’d drive me mad enough to quit, and the same is true of lots of people.
So you're saying it works.
Not legal in countries where you cant outright fire people. You have to get them tasks. No phone out wouldnt be enforceable unless they sit you in a bunker with no connection.
Is it? It's your boss' duty to provide you with work and they cannot dock your pay (outside of special circumstances) if they don't have work for you, but they can absolutely pay you to sit around and drink coffee in case work comes around.
I believe what they're saying is you can't use work assignment to pressure someone to quit as a way around labor protections.
As with a lot of legal stuff, the intent matters.
fake: anon has a wife
gay: anon is punished by his boss and likes it, which is clearly a euphemism for the forbidden but very kinky relationship between anon and his boss
The entire not leaving until your boss leaves (who also must leave after her boss leaves) leads to a chain where only the CEO gets off first, leading to the really toxic 14 hour days. At least layoffs don't seem to be as prevalent there.
WHY IS NOBODY CREATING MORE MEAT FOR THE MACHINE!?!?!?
Politicians unable to get people to make fuck trophies because they can't afford crap, have to slave away until they're 70, return to a shoe box as a home, breathe polluted air from birth to death, and survive a burning planet.
No idea why people don't want to pump out more than 2.1 units per woman. It's a total mystery!
I agree with you but people who call other humans fuck trophies or crotch goblins are usually just the fucking worst most insufferable people ever.
